I don't want to be negative. I don't ever touch the water, because it robs the forward cast of energy as it moves forward. Those casts that touch the water prior to the target area are just what they appear to be, bad casts. Learn line control. Any cast a man starts and catches a fish is a fish is the best cast. Manup if you make a bad cast and still catch a fish, have the decency to call it a bad cast and praise God for your good luck.

What I've noticed is the ease with which Simon changed from casting right handed (single spay/snat) to left handed (double spey / snake roll. I'm right handed and I'm casting with my left hand but not as smooth. Simply WOW.

Thanks for clearing that up. I had heard of spey casting but i thought it was just some reason to sell me more equipment. Now I know it has a useful function and I can do it with the rods I have. Cool!
