We do something similar with pool noodles. Cut it about about 18-. Cut a piece of pvc and run through the middle. Tie a line through the pipe and to a three way swivel then tie a line off the bottom of the swivel with a hook. Drop them flat on the water. When a catfish hit it the noodle will stand up and you know a fish is on. Modern day jug fishing.

Hello BlueGabe I truly enjoy your videos were your out fishing with your sons or other children. I wish my grandson had someone in his life to teach him how to live off the land life you teach your children and how you and DMFD teach the world. Those big cypress were maybe about 100yrs old sadly the ones 2 or 3 hundred yrs old are scarce because most cypress swamps we're logged at one point when you see one 2 or 300yrs old u will know because it will be absolutely massive probably 3 or 4x the base of the ones you were looking at

How did I miss this video? I-m just bored at home and watching old gabe vids and stumbled upon this! I-m a Myrtle beach/Socastee native and some of my best times growing up as a teen were on a 15ft Jon boat with my best friend cat fishing these waters! Oh the stories we could tell lol

Damn Bluegabe! Wish I knew you were in town would-ve loved to meet you. I grew up and learned to swim in the intracoastal not far from that exact creek you guys set those lines in.

We call them to drop lines, with a dough ball on the end, keeping it about an inch above the water, so when he catfish jumps out of the water to get the dough ball--he is hooked

We live in the swamp here and we set out lines like this but I swim around to check some when the water comes up and we got some huge aligarors and mochosines out there
