The skipjack meat looks amazing! Idk how people say it-s bad, I feel like any tuna will be good tuna as long as you know how to cook it. Anyone who even thinks about criticizing Gabe for -tough love- have no right, the man takes up the responsibility to help raise and teach a kid that-s not even his own and his EX-wife-s oldest son but treats him like his own even though he-s separated from his mother. Gabe is literally 1 in a billion men to co-parent as good and loving to his own kids but to be a father figure to a kid that-s not his own is rarer than finding a pearl in an oyster. This country has had such horrible examples of men that don-t even take care of their own kids let alone someone else-s kid! Tough love is exactly what the words are tough but still love, with that Trae would have never learned from his mistake.

Anyone who has ever taught people to fish knows how frustrating it can be I mean my dad was hard on me the whole time but I figured it out quick one night we were sticking flounder in my home town Port o conner TX but I was little and was just poking the fish and he had to get mad lmao after my ass chewing I got quiet and he looked at me and said good your mad now next fish you see I want you to run that gig through him like you wanna stick me in the ass with it so next thing he sees is a flounder ran half way up my gig. My dad taught me everything his dad taught him and his dad was way meaner my pawpaw Lewis Johnson was one of the best down there.

Gabe, I don't think Trey could have a better roll model! In your videos, you are always teach your boys how to be MEN starting at a young age. They all will grow up to show respect, be respected, have common sense and morals to truly be good young men with an outstanding foundation to go forth in the world and be productive parts of society.
You have bragged Trey up on how you trusted him at 9yo to back the truck up & hook the trailer, trusted him to launch AND recover the boat. come on now, I know adults that can't do any of the above.
Mass respect for your mom & pops for teaching their 3 boys how to raise such kids.

Teaching a young man in a moment like that, what not to do, is perfect. You can't care about their feelings more than you care about the lesson learned. That's what liberal parents do. And that only creates a generation of men that can't take care of themselves and their families. He didn't follow your instructions, and he messed up. But he will remember that lesson for the rest of his life, he will get over the disappointment in the short term, and he will thank you. Anyone that says otherwise is a fool. Good job for teaching that young man a lesson, Gabe.

You are absolutely right and what better to teach than a child! An adult with the wrong attitude may have said -well why didn't you say so- and even though the proof is in the pudding. Adults don't like to admit they didn't hear ya and learn nothing from it. However a child will soak that in and pass it on. Not all cases people! Just some that I've personally experienced and can share.

If you are going to eat best the Tuna, you have to prepare it the day or two you catch it. Unlike other Tuna's skipjacks loose its flavor and gets dry very quickly. This is why it is more expensive here in Maldivies and most people prefer Yellow Fins for economic value as they don't loose their freshness that much in fridge.

Hey brother, I got 4 big baby boys and more importantly 4 older girls.
Tough love is good love and I know this because the old kids have grown up to be awesome responsible adults and more importantly 2 of my girls have become awesome parents themselves.

Hopefully that chewing out will stick in that young man's memory. One day he will probably do the same to one of his students when he becomes a grown man and a mentor to a young chap taking Fishing 101. Way to go Gabe.
