Your mantis shrimp is a smasher. His primary foods are shelled. snails, crabs, clams, etc. Not saying they can't or won't eat fish, just that's not what they normally do. Throw a couple small crabs in there. Or some hermit crabs.

I've never seen a snakehead fish before so its just be a Florida fish. If they're in Texas and I caught it I would've thought it was harmful to eat.

This brings back so many memories. My father was an AVID fisherman, Snook was his specialty. He passed away 2 yrs ago. I miss going fishing with him. -
