Really hoping to get an answer from the master himselfHow many yards of line would you say to have on a reel at minimum? I lost a lot of 4-5 footers on vacation from the pier from getting bit off. I have an 80 size reel with 30 pound mono that seemed to do the job, just curious what you recommend Would it be worth it to step down to the smaller diameter of braid to fit more line? Thank you so much Amazing work as usual.

BlacktipH love your vids, but I have a feeling that the monster that Dennis lost was not a blacktip or even a shark. I think that it was one of those wicked 40+ pound Jack Crevalle. Once they get over 40lbs it is a whole different ball game. I have been shark fishing off Miami Beach many of times thinking I had that 250+ lb shark and a hour & 20 min later it turned out to be that Rod-Reel-Spinal-Crackin-Thug the Jack

I almost caught the biggest fish of my life in mayport of Jacksonville, I thought it was snag for the longest, I got it within a few feet of shore, then it broke the line where I had it tied to the mono on a swivel, anyway the fish probly weighed 30 pounds my heart was just pounding, so yeah personal best probly a few pound bass.

Happened to us one night at boynton inlet we fought this shark for 3 hours had it pretty close was bout to get down to the beach boat came threw heard a big thud then the line went slack we think the boat hit the big ass shark we had and broke the line it was a huge shark took 3 of us to fight it. Wish we coulda landed it.

love your videos Josh. I'm going fishing in Cape san blas florida this summer and they have a lot of bull sharks and bonnet heads whag would be the best bait to catch a shark 4-6 feet. I was there last year and one reel got spooled and I lost another on a 6 ft rig(broke the line above the rig)

What type of reels are you guys using? I need a good ocean bank reel but I don't really want a bait caster since you can't cast them as easy as a spinning reel. I just need one with a good amount of line and a good drag system
