That was so beautifully showcased and delivered and executed by Chappell, Paul, and Genesis. Thank you Vogue for posting this because there have been people in social media passing judgement and instantly commenting that her look was not on theme. Of course these people are haters and trolls and ignorant. All the while Chappell brilliantly assembled a talented team of designers particularly with having Academy Award-winning costume designer Paul Tazewell who beautifully described the look while referencing and paying homage to black culture and also perfectly tailoring it for Chappell to her style. Just a beautiful intersection of Chappell and Paul and Genesis' vision.

Why does The always look like Harley Quinn sidenote it’s probably because of the whole drag stuff that makes you look like Harley Quinn most of her time in her outfit but still I think our musicians were handled adjacent subject matter but I haven’t put it at the forefront of their music have been a better like Freddie Mercury is an example of a person you think any musician pushing in agenda get out of bed makes the music and make them as a person and come to their music worse in my opinion also that’s why I don’t care for listen to that music that’s why I prefer someone like Billie Eilish because she doesn’t do that

We've been using it to build the world in a really authentic way. Gurl, please. Enjoy your night. Rock the look. But don't pretend it has anything earth shattering to do with building the world.
Its a goat rodeo of famous people vying for attention, and little more.

There the only ones who always have to broadcast there face and culture no other race does that. There so manipulative and play on people's sympathy.
You never see any other ethnicities in fashion and hair and there's so many.

i thought her look was too attention-seeking for a white woman at a night that was supposed to celebrate black people and black culture. at least it was made by a black designer

I love that this video exists, people online are being so ridiculous about this outfit and this is what I saw when I saw the outfit so I’m glad I’m not crazy in thinking that lol

What a way to pay tribute to fashion, tailors, the eighties and black drag culture. I really admire the vision of the team, their sense of aesthetics and sense of black history.

I dunno how I feel about this. I get that she’s paying homage but it feels very gentrified. But it is the Met Gala sooooo, yeah.
