It’s never just a jar of cosmetics. Behind every product there’s a team of people, countless hours of brainstorming, strategy building, positioning, creating meaningful content, and big investments in advertising.
And then someone comes along, makes a copy without putting in the work no content, no marketing, no innovation just copying.
Influencers promote it for free, and the ones who did all the hard work are left uncredited.
To me, that’s a complete disrespect for intellectual property and for the people behind the real work.

I love these videos of yours! We need gem finds that actually perform but don't leave us broke! Also Korean skincare is a treasure of amazing products! Thank you Tati, once again you work wonders! Love your hair highlights! Now as for the exact dupes, on one hand I have to say I get why the OGs go after them cause I mean come on, even the packaging On the other hand, from the consumer standpoint, it just goes to show that the same product at a reasonable price can exist!

8 Feb 2025 Shelley Sullivan stepped down as CEO of MCoBeauty on Friday, after selling the business at a valuation north of $1 billion to DBG Health's billionaire Dennis Bastas.
Dennis Bastas has extensive experience developing and operating businesses across pharmaceuticals, consumer health and pharmacy retailing and wholesaling. He is currently the Executive Chairman and CEO of DBG Health, Australia's largest diversified pharmaceutical, health and beauty products business.

This may not be correct any more but years ago when I was working in jewellery retail (Australia) items could be legally copied if they were deemed to be different to the original by 10%. One example was that a customer wanted the Nike tick made into a stud earring. The jeweller made the tick slightly more elongated than the original design and the wider part of the tick slightly thicker. Once in the ear it looked exactly like the Nike tick even though it wasn’t.

Ooooo I have been pretty obsessed and impressed by Dollar Tree lately. I've been finding myself going more and more. I found these Aloe Vera antibacterial hand wipes in a soft mint green cylinder dispense container while on vacation at Rockport. We were just picking up a few things when i came across these. I was shocked to see that Aloe Vera is the 2nd ingredient listed. I loved them. Great for my kids. Great for a quick wipe down.

I don’t like duping companies. I think it’s unfair to steal a product’s likeness and formula. There are dupes and they blatant copying MCoBeauty. I will never buy from you or Makeup Revolution I just can’t. As a supporter of artists we need to support the actual artist and creator of the brand no matter how big or small. If I can’t afford it then I can’t afford it which is 99% of makeup.

My only thing about the companies with dupes is that is hard to know about credentials, do they have a good chemist when they replace some if the ingredients and what are those labs like they are outsourcing from. Not every time but sometimes cheaper comes at a cost and I personally don’t want to be the guinea pig. A dollar for a plumping lip gloss just scares me, my personal opinion.

I love seeing dupes because it’s showing us completely how much charlotte tilbury rips people off. Her moisturisers and products are ridiculously over priced for the ingredients and packaging considering now other brands can sell the exact same lipstick packaging for 1 dollar and other products more then half price cheaper then Charlotte

Anyone else love the glow recipe niacinamide butyou only get half the product out of the container because of the shape of the container That tear drop look is nice but I’m opening the container and using the rest and it’s quite a lot that’s left when the pump starts to not work anymore. Is it just me or is it every bottle

Im just not ok with dupes like that. I don't support the weird brands that have no ideas of their own. If it is a reputable brand like Loreal yeah Im better with that because they pit there own spin on it. But those off brand weird ones. Hell no! True Lux brands and the amazing packages can't truly be duped though.
reply

Not saying 2 wrongs make a right BUT Charlotte has been suing several small business owners for ridiculous reasons that don't IMO deserve it, like one company makes beads not makeup but part of the name is similar to something in hers, I wanna say maybe Hollywood, it is ridiculous.

Can someone please tell me if the Caudalie sunscreen is safe for acne prone skin I am looking for a safe sunscreen for on vacation but the ones I’ve tried break me out so bad. I don’t have Sephora here, but i can get the Caudalie. Please recommend some pharmacy safe options

I live in NY less than an hour from NYC. Nearby we have VERY POPULAR shopping areas called The Commons. In the Commons is a FIVE BELOW and you can bet I’ll be stopping in that store next time I’m out that way! Thanks for making these videos Tati!

Wow! Can't wait to try the Color Wow dupe! But how do we feel about dimethicone I thought we were not using products with it because when its heated at a high heat, it creates formaldehyde, which causes hair fall out and breakage.

I got the essence primer a while ago when it first was released and I love it for my dry spots and sensitive skin. Happy to see it’s a dupe for something else. Thank you for your research Tati! I appreciate you so much!

I've been on a mission to find a SPF spray that is not greasy. So far the one from Kate Somervile is the oly one that is not greasy and its spf 50. But Tati reminded me about Milani, so I'll try that one too
reply

Hair looks amazing! Its one thing to do an inspired by for the ones that can't afford the high end products but when the packaging, name, etc is the same then thats not right and the company should be sued
reply

Do you feel like the spray spf Naked Sunday and Milani make your skin greasy I have both products and love the idea of the spray touch up SPF but I feel like they make my skin look skiny and greasy
reply

I cannot believe there’s a scandal and make up I know it’s but we need options because people don’t have money I know this is controversial but it’s fair game sorry Love the video please do more
