My tip from years ago: you can use a cool-tone brown brow pencil as an eye shader if you can't be bothered using eyeshadow. Draw on a small amount of pencil in the places you want the shadow (for instance in the inner or outer corners -basically wherever you want it to recede) and then blend softly with your finger in the direction you want the shadow to fade out, if you go slightly overboard it's not all that hard to rub off some and tone it down to the correct level to resemble an actual natural shadow. Once you get the hang of it it's very quick to do and very effective. Bonus tip: (this one is good for guys) if you want some eye definition but don't want to look like you're wearing mascara because it makes your lashes too long and feminine, apply a quick thin coat of black mascara to the eyelashes from root to tip, but immediately before it dries (literally straight away while it's still wet, grab a tissue and with it folded between your thumb and index finger, gently grab your eyelashes all along from halfway along them grabbing on the top and bottom of the lashes and gripping firmly with the tissue, gently pull the tissue to the ends, wiping off the longest half of the lash length and moving from the inner corner to the outer corner. Your tissue should be covered in black marks. You will have the darkness only at the roots and the ends will not look like they have anything on them and it will be undetectable. It's a quick and easy way for a guy to get eye definition and not have it noticed.

Tip 2: I did use my wide tooth comb, no conditioner allowed though.
Tip 3: No makeup, so no setting spray.
Tip 4: No facial oil.
Tip 5: No puff.
Tip 6: No touchups needed.
Tip 7: No powder, so no need for brushes. Are we sensing a theme yet
Tip 8: No curlers.
Tip 9: No heat.
Bonus tip: Hair breakage doesn't matter when they are going to shave part of your hair off for brain surgery. Don't feel sorry for me. I didn't lose much hair at all.
I know I'm showing off at this point, but they got all of my tumor. I didn't get pneumonia either. That was the plan, and it worked. Thank you to my surgical team and to you, Tati, for all your advice and encouragement. Long live Puka Shell!

Hi Tati! I know that the point for most beauty gurus is that they love the whole look thing, but I was wondering if you'd consider doing a (mini) series for those of us who don't do a full face I never have and never will wear foundation - maybe a tiny bit of concealer on an extreme day. I've just never been able to bother with both matching (because my skin changes colour and tones so dramatically with the seasons) and the amount of work it takes. But I still always wear a brow and eyeshadow, liner and mascara - and maybe a bit of blush. I would love to see tips and beautiful examples for those of us who don't do a full beat!

I have one. because my nose is so damn oily and if I don't take action the makeup on it will disassemble as soon as I leave the house. I put translucent powder on it before foundation, then the usual baking and then I take 2 sheets of toilet paper, fold them in half, spray one end with the strongest hold hairspray that I could find and press that down around the nostrils and tip so the makeup will hold a little longer. Probably not good with the hair spray I know but I don't know any alternative and it has worked for me so far and was a life saver whenever I had to spend the day out and about

A quick tip for fly away hairs. Use a soft toothbrush sprayed with it tiny spritz of hairspray or shine spray. Now you can keep this one brush just for your fly aways. I wash mine every couple of weeks with a little dish soap and then lay it on a towel to dry.
This tip was shown to me over 25 years ago when I was in Cosmetology School. Try it it works. also this works on your eye brows if you find yourself out of brow gel.
Make sure the toothbrush is New and has soft bristles like a baby's toothbrush.

I always brush my hair before showering and washing it. I use a microfiber towel to dry my hair to reduce frizz. some perfumes i am sensitive to but love the smell so I dont spritz on my neck, ever. i use my makeup brushes how i need them not always like theyre marketed. eye makeup before face makeup to handle any fallout. i heat up my eyelash curler to make my lashes curled for longer. & i also heat up my brow pencil. thats all of the top of my head. maybe not all hacks but beauty habits.

Along the lotion/shower tip; I also lock in the moisture on my face, I splash a hydrating toner on afterwards then by the time I dry myself off and before my face completely dries off I put my favorite face moisturizer on.
Thanks Tati for great beauty tips as well! I’ve been using the comb trick in the shower for years to disperse my conditioner that my kids, now grown, have been doing this since they were young and have beautiful long shiny hair.

I like serum foundations and thin concealers because of my wrinkles. My undereyes are really dark and I have broken capillaries so I need more full coverage but that type of foundation is too thick with my wrinkles. I will use a thinner foundation and concealer then set my face and under eyes with my shade of Bare Minerals powder foundation. It doesn't look dry and cakey and gives me extra coverage.

So my grandmother told me this one, she told me to use coffee grounds as a body scrub AND to scrub your scalp because it can help with celulite and because coffee isnt coarse coarse, its great at exfoliating and the caffeine helps with making it more elastic. you can mix it with your shampoo and it provides vitamin c and e. i dont do it every day, but i had the routine of doing it twice a month

I got the text! Here is my hidden tip. I take a frosted white eyeliner and place it on the outside lines of my cupids bow and very top of my lip. I smudge this up and out. Then after setting spray and applying my lip liner, I Powder the lips and upper lip. I get that upper lip highlight that lasts all day long!

Omg the heat trick! I was in high school in the early 2000s when the black liner couldn’t be thick or dark enough. we used to heat our eyeliner with a lighter to make it creamier and darker. It stayed on longer too! I burned my lash line a couple of times. Def wouldn’t recommend that today

What I'm about to say is so not revolutionary, just me being quirky, I suppose. But when I wet my beauty sponge and wring it out with my hands, I MUST take a clean dry washcloth or towel and squeeze the remaining water out. Not all of it, but I just need it barely damp through and through.

I know that this is quite a well-known hack, but heating up the lash curler before using it is probably one of my favorites! (But careful! It can get really hot really fast, so first press it up against your arm or somewhere else to make sure you won't burn yourself with it.

Wonderful tips Tati! Thank you. I have a tip: Before putting on my eye cream in the morning, I use a small pump on each eye of Cetaphil Healthy Renew Eye Gel Serum.
It is glycerin based and really makes the eye area smooth and hydrated.
Love that product.

Graphic or winged eyeliner in any color you want. Use a white eyeliner, pencils will make the pigment stick better but liquid works too. Draw whatever eyeliner you want with the white then using an angled liner brush pack, then swipe any eyeshadow over the white.

A WEIRD TIP FROM MY FRIEND She takes off her underwear in the shower & washes them with body wash & hangs them before doing all the normal in the shower stuff! lol Is she crazy or a genius You decide! But she always has clean underwear. (More or less)

Love these tricks! Gonna try the shower ones and the beauty blender one. A trick I like to use to keep my hair shiny and smooth is to clip my hair up after conditioner and let it sit for a few minutes and then wash it out. Also helps with back acne!
