I tried 5 heatless curl methods over 2 weeks to find out if heatless curls are REALLY worth it and whether they could actually replace my curling iron. We’re testing heatless curls for longevity, results, comfort, time, difficulty, potential hair damage, and what it’s actually like to rely on curls without heat in real life.
For two weeks, I put away my curling iron and styled my hair heatless 7 different times. I tried everything from overnight blowout-style curls to socks, curl noodles, and the Octocurl with some surprisingly gorgeous resultsand at least one spectacular failure.
But I had questions beyond whether heatless curls could look good.
Do heatless curls actually last longer than curling iron curls Do they really save time Are heatless curls actually better for your hair, or can they cause their own type of mechanical damage How comfortable are they to sleep in And if you have stubborn, hard-to-curl hair like mine, can heatless curls be reliable enough to actually replace hot tools
I even tested heatless curls vs. curling iron curls side-by-side on the same head to see which lasted longer.
After 2 weeks, 5 different heatless curl methods, 7 styling days, some amazing hair days, and some questionable onesI have THOUGHTS.

baileylane6543 Do I ever use heat tools No. Do I ever curl my hair No. Am I sat here watching this yes! Lol I live how you did all modern methods of heatless curls. I am curious to see who would win between old school and new school method of heatless. (I have a feeling you would prefer modern as old school can be time consuming. Also I thought the first rope braid with octo looked AMAZING! And thank you for saying you're a side sleeper. I am a back sleeper and would have said all the methods were comfortable because I wouldn't feel them! Lol reply
