Curly girl here: I and a lot of other curly girls (most of the ones I ve seen) actually like to do the opposite of what you mentioned! The wide tooth comb helps to get out big tangles in a way similar to using fingers and it can distribute conditioner, but a brush really helps bigger clumps to form. Like, a wide tooth comb separates the hair and makes clumps smaller, but a brush sort of. mushes it all together if that makes sense. So a lot of us start with wide tooth and then finish with a more gentle brush to form clumps and style!

Kaylee, I have watched you and Brad Mondo talk about brushes. Neither one of you addressed the brushes that have metal bristles. That is the type of brush I use and I need to know what is the best way to clean it because it contains the lint so much worse than I like.

I use one of those like dual nylon boar bristle detangling brushes bc my hair is like mad frizzy and it always ends up with so much lint and dry shampoo and I can never get it out and it s gross as hell and now I think imma invest in a brush cleaner thing so

I actually found the cleaning part very informative. i've been struggling to clean mine with like toothpicks or pencils but i could not figure out how to get all the lint and dust out of there! So thank you so much!

I just detangle my hair once I towel dry it then let it dry naturally. Then I just brush it out. I have naturally straight hair so I'm lucky. I don't use a hair dryer unless I have to which isn't often.

Round brushes make me nervous! My niece got one stuck in my hair a couple weeks before my wedding. I thought I was going to have to cut my hair. Luckily we got it out eventually!
