Hairdresser reacts to life changing haircuts (long to pixie)

I haven't had long hair since I was a child tbh. Until now.
I just got sick of getting it cut constantly. I'd have to spend $ for a haircut every month or it'd grow and look scruffy and I'd start losing the style. It jist seemed like an expensive pain in the bum after so many years of doing it.
So, I started growing it about 3 years ago and it's finally down to my tailbone.
Virgin hair; I never dye it, seldom heat style, and follow CG method for my waves.
I had a dream/nightmare the other night that someone cut off my hair and I cried. Which really surprised me, because NEVER before in the past have I actually really cared about my hair or been particularly attached to it.
I started growing it because I was too lazy to get it cut. But, somewhere along the way, I started to actually take my hair seriously and learned how to take proper care of it and enjoy it.
I feel sorta like I'm doing things backwards lol. Short hair for the past 20 years and then growing it out as I reach my 40s. I'm not gonna lie, I'm actually excited for the grey and can't wait to be walking around with a mass of white hair trailing down my back one day

When brad was talking about changing up your hair I was like I'm one step ahead of you. lmao.
My hair was down to the middle of my back, but after I cut it off for hair donation to the little princes' trust it is super short. my mum cut it in ponytails, as per the instructions, but we had to go to the hairdressers as we knew we would have to, as it was super uneven, Lmao but now it looks a lot better and people have said it looks good and cool, which I'm happy about
In my opinion, they all looked great.
The first one: was so pretty and the short hair looked amazing on her
second one: the style looked amazing on her, might need a bit of tidying up, as the technique was not there, but still so cool.
3rd one: looked great and made her look more mature.
4th one: it brightened her up and gave her more life and a cool vibe to her hair
although I'm not sure about the sweeping over long moment, but those girls killed it

I had long hair to my butt and my mom took me to salon and the hairstylist chopped my hair to my shoulders against what she said she would do. I have never had my hair short again and its been 20 years since that time. Im never getting my hair short as long as Im young and my hair is healthy Im not going to have a short style. Im 30 now and I still feel hurt about that day. Never doing that to my daughter ever if she doesnt want to cut her hair. It wasnt my mom fault. She didnt ask her to. The stylist just thought she knew better than what I asked her to do. Which was elbow length from over the butt length. My hair has never been able to grow that long again from when I was younger. I do not trust hairstylist and adamantly tell them to not cut my hair more than I agree to.

Im about to do my hair. Its all natural and barely to my shoulders. Ill be cutting it all alone. Ill be bleaching it and adding color. I want to film it just for YOU Brad! I might, and I might post it (and cross-post it) and tag you, and maybe youll see it. No haircut Im over one year (and before that, I chopped ALL my hair off) No bleach in 3 or so years. No semi in my hair in over a year. Both were sparsely used for awhile before that. Its been au naturel for awhile and I need a change! Yall if you see this, give me a thumbs up to wish me luck! [i know this video so old though]

Ive watched this video so many times already. Half a year ago I cut my long hair (it was down my butt) into a pixie cut and donated it, and to this day Im still excited about it. Brads so right when he says that it changes your life and the way you feel and think about yourself, not to mention the knowledge that someone will receive your hair and feel better about themselves too.
I deeply encourage anyone thats thinking about doing it to just go for it!

My hair was 28 inches long and I was going through some things mentally and wasnt able to maintain how long and thick my hair was, it ended up getting extremely matted and I was unable to take care of it anymore, I would have loved to donate all my long hair, but because of the matting I had to shave half of my head and cut my hair to my shoulders, it was a huge change but I seriously needed it, and Ive never felt better!

sigh. I had really long hair at some point so I wanted a pixie to start fresh, but it was a mistake. My hair got butchered, and the cut just didn't turn out right. And I have curly hair. My hair is nice and long now, a lot more healthy, but I do regret chopping it all off, not to say other people shouldn't, but make sure you go to someone who specializes in it

I literally hate long hair and 2 years ago when I was 12 I cut my hair into pixie and I was so happy with my haircut. Now I have longer hair and I wanted to change my look so I gave myself a wolfcut (with your tutorial) and it's the only long haircut I like and I think it really suits me.

Years ago I went to a salon to get a pixie cut from shoulder length hair and the stylist didn't known what she was doing. I've never cut my hair short again. You cant find any pictures of me during that dark time. I have curly hair, wear it curly and I really was down for any short length that would work with it. Not sure what she did.

When you mentioned at 9: 31 that the girl should have gone to a hairstylist instead of buzzing her own hair, Im thinking that she didnt because with hair as long as hers, very few stylists would have been eager to cut it off so short (most would have suggested she do it gradually in order to avoid tears once the cut is done.

I had long hair most of my life and right before I shipped out to basic training I got a pixie. I was 19 when I went into the salon and looked about 45 when I came out, but I was going to basic so it didnt matter if I looked good, all I needed was low maintenance so it worked. Im definitely never doing it again though

I had really long hair(it was growing to below my waist) about 2 yrs ago and I just one day decided to cut the whole thing off and it was the most satisfying thing ever! And it felt empowering to a certain degree (long story short, ive never had hair cut above my shoulders before due to mom's decisions)

13: 08 Hey that's kind of true. I've been pretty depressed for the past few years. I used to have bum length hair, and now that I got a mullet and look at older photos of myself I can feel how insecure and sad I was back then. (Still really sad, but like at least my hair looks good now lol's)

I had to cut my hair to a pixie after it was destroyed by a stylist my regular girl was out so I went to someone new my confidence has never been so low I hate it so much I was so embarrassed i changed my job to work from home and wear a beanie even when people cant see me

I need a haircut I have a pixie cut but it's been 3months since I've trim it I always dye it pink my color I'm normally really good at cutting my own hair but I need someone to trim the back its hard but for now I'll just dye it pink again and style it in a 80s Mohawk
