Some of this stuff isn't really that bad. It was just edgy for its time, and we all know Dan Schneider is a pred and we can put a lot of stuff from the Amanda Show on here and etc. But honestly, scenes from the Powerpuff Girls and SpongeBob aren't that offensive. If we think those have aged poorly, then we might as well say Family Guy and South Park have aged terribly too even significantly worse. Anything can be seen as offensive if it targets someone, so why even have jokes I'm not saying everything is great or should be made today, but we need to distinguish between what’s meant for laughs and what’s genuinely hurtful. This is definitely a subjective topic, as opinions vary widely. Sure, some of it might stir up controversy, but we have to remember those were different times, not something that just came out yesterday.

I don't think there's much difference between women and men most of both can awful or good there's a few worth loving and dying for I guess so person skin colours dont bother me at all but one thing i hate is how everyone cries racist then whites gets make fun of We all gotta laugh at ourselves once in a while. I do it all the time! but if any other race get make fun of its no laughing matters its racist its racist then other races get make fun off but then white get made fun off its okay we have to laugh at ourselves once in a while.

Doesn't anything consensual count as not assault Seriously I feel like people overthink kissing strangers or anybody randomly on TV way too seriously.
I always loved those tropes because they are so hilarious and I don't want them ruined because people have to be so oversensitive.
Yes, in real life that wouldn't fly unless someone is at a place where strangers love to kiss.
But, TV is just made up stuff! I wouldn't overthink it. :(

12: 00 Oh wow, I actually saw this episode when it aired. I didn't realize that that was the ONLY time it ever aired. That literal depiction was what I always imagined as a kid whenever I heard an adult use that term (which they really shouldn't have been using around a kid, or anyone, for that matter) When I finally learned what the term meant as an adult I ended up questioning if this episode really happened.

Criticize a silly children's cartoon because its satire was superficial and comedic, rather giving a detailed lecture on an adult topic with all the nuances Lol, sounds like a salty reaction to a completely appropriate satire. Not to mention, in this day and age, I would much rather have a light message like this than the clunky modern cartoons that try to be a platform for their authors instead of entertaining.

K I tend to be a little airheaded but if Zach was descended from Native Americans then how is it appropriation (sp) If he was taught and studied his heritage before the 2nd presentation then why isn't allowed to wear his ancestors wardrobe/head-dress I'm not trying to be a jerk. I'm curious and trying to understand why this is considered wrong. So no assholes allowed when answering please and thank you.

Quite unusual the left of today is attacking the left of yesterday for inappropriate behavior even though the left of today and yesterday both attack the right and think they represent the cultural zeitgeist and is on the right side of history
What the left is doing to children today will, in 20 years, be seen as horrendous but cannot expect them to have enough self reflection to realize it

Powerpuff Girls Equal Fights actually aged well in my opinion. Showing that for all the talk Fem Fatale made about the inequality of women, she didn't care about that. She only cared about using that inequality to put herself on top and as a Get out of jail free card to excuse her actions. Only to end with her being treated with real equality at the end and not liking it

Ehm, number 17 is actually kind of a reality now, so, I would say it was even ahead of its time lol
For number 18, we literally have an YT series called Zack Morris is Trash because the protagonist just keeps on doing horrible things, so, that one is just the tip of the iceberg.

One scene that bothers me now is the opening scene in the episode of Zoey 101 after Alexis Nikoles was fired and they said that Nicole left the school due to being boy crazy. Knowing now what was happening to her on set behind the scenes, its just unsettling.

johnny bravo isn't meant to be a role model. ppl are meant to laugh at him for failing. no wonder ppl are scared to write real villains these days. reminds me of the rock's skit on snl with the villain league and how he invented the chomo robot.
reply

11: 06 Yeah, but also remember that Logan is a rich kid.
He definitely would’ve gotten in trouble with the school (and he does) but he wouldn’t have gotten expelled because his dad would’ve paid off the school to prevent that.

Yeah uh, when it comes to the Power Puff Girls episode, you don't know what the hell you're talking about. That episode is perfect in exposing the double standards and the fact that women are equally as bad as men.
reply

Personally, I don't think the PowerPuff case was that bad and it did age decently.
Dirty Schneider's jokes in the other hand, well.
They should have been banned, but Nickelodeon always prioritizing money.

I would still love to watch Johnny Bravo (both versions which had different art styles. I would watch anything that did not age well to compare - except for teen sitcoms featuring feet or foot
reply

both episodes are entirely innocuous and feature good lessons for the show's young audience. 1: 12 and 1: 19. stop repeating yourself, stop repeating yourself, stop repeating yourself.

Am I the only one who remembers Nigel Thornberry’s speech about how he and Marianne met in the Valentine’s Day episode of The Wild Thornberrys THAT deserves a place on this list.
reply

Watching some of these shows as a kid I didn’t think anything was wrong with these scenes at the time but now looking back there are some bits that did look somewhat creepy.
reply

The Great Outdoors (The Ren & Stimpy Show)
Never care for the Kanker Sisters
Spongebob Squarepants is borderline adult show
One of my middle teachers hated Johnny bravo

reply

I like how when they put human characters in arthur. they make their characters have animal ears while making it look like they have normal human ears for some. odd reason
