1) Terminator The first two movies told the entire story. Why do you keep going back to the well Don't you realize that all the bucket will dredge up is mud water
2) WW 1984. This movie is an example of The studio gave me a sit ton of money and I'm going to blow it all with a big giant party for all my friends.
3) The Adventures of Pluto Nash This story would have only worked if it was treated like an 80's T n A flick-a budget of 10k and, oh yeah, lots and lots of topless women.
4) Jungle Cruise-Let's see, we take an extremely well known actor, put him in a movie with absolutely no story or recognizable plot and somehow think we're gonna make megabucks. It's like the director watched The African Queen after smoking a GIANT bag of Maui wowee and then, through his brain fog, told the story to the screenwriters.
5) Another King Arthur story See my note about dragging the bucket at the bottom of well.
6) Geena Davis as a pirate See my note about 80's T n A flick.
7) Another Lone Ranger movie See my note about the well and bucket.

Don't get me wrong, I like Geena Davis and Hugh Jackman. Don't think they're responsible for their movies bombing.
Cutthroat Island is something of a guilty pleasure for me.
Pan was just poorly written. Did the cinematic crime of telling, and not showing. Over explained too much of the plot, instead of the characters convey it with their actions, we have people stopping everything to tell Peter Pan how Blackbeard is bad, and Peter is good.
The Terminator franchise was dead before Dark Fate was in theaters. Genesys assured that years ago with its retconning. Not saying it was a good movie, but it's like trying to slap a Hello Kitty band aid on a shotgun wound to the head. The damage was already done.

I really wouldn't say that that was all geena Davis's fault. I mean who the hell knows who Matthew modine is And if you do know who he is then you're a weirdo don't question the irony of how I know who he is while questioning who knows who he is and that was just a bad movie anyway nobody wanted to be in it. I don't even think the studios wanted to make that movie. It was like a contractual obligation and they had to do it to release themselves from the contract or that they were put in a position where they had to do it and nobody wanted to do it. Sons of anarchy is fx's greatest show That's quite a claim.

The general sentiment of the comments, fifty posted about an hour after this video went live, is that you can't just put the blame on the actors for the failures of these movies - and I'd have to agree, as these all pretty much had other problems and issues that led to why the movies failed. and the ones that failed in part because of the actor were because the studio gave the lead to an actor that wasn't ready for it or to an actor whose time had past and wasn't as big a draw as they used to be.

People should not blame Tim Miller for the failure of Terminator: Dark Fate too
He was the director, not the writer
Killing that one character was James Cameron's idea
Miller deserves another chance because he still has a lot to offer
Has anyone seen LOVE, DEATH and ROBOTS

do the people who actually make these lists know the actors have very little say in if a movie flops The directors. The writers. The producers. Let’s stop putting so much pressure solely on those literally killing themselves to entertain us. They have to work with what they’re given.
reply

It’s the writing and director who also need to work with the editors. Star Wars would have been just as bad as all the Disney versions but they had an editor who made the best of what she had. Can’t blame the actors, well Steven seagal ok nevermind it’s the actors fault!

This is just Celebrities Who Are Casted As The Main Star In MOVIES Which Lost Studios The Most $
I thought this list was for those whos personal behavior caused the studio to lose money. The best example would be Rachel Zegler.

Rob Schneider was almost completely responsible for Judge Dredd being a flop. That movie had a huge budget and his attempts at comedy were morbidly depressing. He single-handedly ruined what could have been a great movie.
reply

The writing sucks, the CGI is over used, horrible soundtracks. They need to go back to the 1970's to learn how to make a movie. And they made movies better than movies today with no CGI and only practical effects.
reply

I mean, is it really the actors fault or the writing for these movies I remember the acting in 90% of these being good while the writing was horrendous. the actors did the best they could with what they were given
reply

John Carter's biggest problem was it's name. Who the hell is John Carter They should have called it Warlord, or Warlord of Mars, or even Dejah Thoris. John Carter is just such a forgettable name.
reply

Thank you for the update, WatchMojo! Oww. No wonder why I don't see some of them on the list in new movies anymore. I hope everything goes well for them in the future.
reply

The director, studio, marketing and people responsible for the creative vision of the project behind the camera typically spell out the quality and outreach of a project.
reply

Come on, you can’t blame ALL the actors on this list for being solely responsible for each of the studios for losing money. They tried their best.
reply

Come on man John Carter, Jungle Cruise, and King Arthur Legend of The Sword was awesome. John Carter was released during the Twilight/Harry Potter era.
reply

N why u gotta go so hard on johnny deep for many do that because they support women over male victims of domestic violence and that's not ok
reply

Most of these movies lost money because of terrible writing not because of the actor. the actor cannot carry a movie alone no matter who it is.
