Woman Horrified to Find She Was Raising Lions To Be Killed at 'Sanctuary'

Any sport hunting is bad. I dont have a problem with hunting for food. But why is it ok to take a magnificent animals life just for your bragging rights I would like a hunter to explain that to me. Because I never opposed managed hunting where the meat was used.
But this is wrong. Shame on those governments for allowing this. Lions should be free on the plain or in a sanctuary!
And shame on any sorry human being who goes to one of those placesto hunt! If you need to kill a lion to feel like a tough guy, one, you arent tough at ALL because you didnt even track it in the wild, it was artificially provided TO YOU, so it doesnt count and two, you got way deeper problems than a hunt can fix.

This is terrifying. I went on a 4 week motorcycle ride thru 5 states. I passed a few of this type of places. Some animals were standing at a huge gate, on the inside of one of those captivity places and just staring out. Like asking for help. I didn't know what to kind of situation they were in at the time. But, I knew something was wrong. Then I stopped for gas and asked a local. My heart sunk and I am still freaked out about this. That was just before covit lock downs came to be. This world can be disgusting, disturbing and sad. This is wrong on all levels.

I cannot explain the deep contempt I feel for such practices, the deep ignorance in which some humans live is for me the greatest incomprehension. I wish such practices were judicially banned, since unfortunately there are humans who were born without a heart. Which makes me doubt their humanity. My greatest thanks to this extraordinary woman and to all those who continue to create the only possible world, because the other one is not.

I figured humans were doing this. Because years ago, I went on a tour in Ghana and Senegal. The highlight of the trip--for me at least--was the opportunity to go to a reserve. But, the tour guide, who was African, told us we could not go to the tour. He made up an excuse. Somehow, I intuitively knew the reserve was closed to visitors so people could hunt the animals. How cruel. And, we humans don't believe in karma.

It’s so disgusting that the poor lions are being raised to be hunted YUCK! Praise to this woman for taking charge and saving this poor little soul that doesn’t belong to get hunted. Animal cruelty is so awful and should be illegal worldwide. People should spent their life in jail if they want to be so cruel to them. I personally and an animal activist. I try my best to save an animal if I get a chance.

I have known about canned hunts for a long time but do not know how to fight them. It is the most barbaric LEGAL way to kill ANY wild animal of any kind. They raise everything from wild boars, lions, tigers, you name it. So they can stuff it's head and hang it on a wall and feel like they have a big penis. I'm retired now and I'm reaching out to anyone with a direction to stop this. I want to help.

Reading other comments I see and realise the truth. Usually rich men seem to have this void this need to trophy hunt. I know it is not right or justified but it is unfortunately the age old Hunter gatherer mentality that has driven men over a long period of time since we originally were cave dwellers. However there must be a solution surely or we will wipe out more animal species.

Some people seem to get a kick out of shooting. Why not try or consider maybe some kind of substitute. I don't have all the answers. I just know we are quite likely as the human race the ones who will probably end up destroying the whole world and still we won't stop and desist or back off. Canned hunts are still allowed in some states like Texas. It is absolutely against any sportsmanship hunting and many hunters are against it. How can anyone find this acceptable South Africa is a huge producer of animals for this trade. GOing up to a caged animal and shooting it is despicable

How can I help. Do I have to live in Africa to rescue lions. I live in USA on 12 acres. Thinking about moving to Africa. I wouldn't mind rescuing in dangered animals. I just rescued my first goat from being killed looking for another now as he is so lonely

Hunters could should be placed in canned hunting areas where they themselves can be hunted. Start with poachers and also hunt those that pay to kill animals.
