Don’t get me wrong: all of these are really good performances, but leaving off Lupita Nyong’o as Roz (The Wild Robot) is a huge oversight. Not only is her performance incredible on all the conventional levels (inflection, emotion, etc, but she does something incredibly rare: she changes the voice as the movie progresses. By making her voice more emotional, more nuanced as she goes, she’s able to show Roz’s character growth in a way that none of these other performances manage. Indeed, I can’t recall another voice acting performance that does this in nearly as smooth a fashion. Yes, plenty of characters show a variety of emotions, and plenty of vocal performances can change over the course of years (this, of course, well be more readily observable in shows than movies, but I can’t think of another voice actor that managed to show so much character development just on the strength of their performance. Seriously, even if you didn’t understand English, I think you’d be able to notice the progression just from her voice. Maybe there’s been another vocal performance over the course of the last century, but I can’t think of one.

This is probably my favorite of all the MsMojo lists I've watched. I can't quarrel with a single choice; I'm especially glad to see David Bradley included, along with Eva Whittaker and Robert Pattinson among the Honorable Mentions, and Jenny Slate's Marcel definitely deserves that No. 1 spot. Only one tiny nitpick: the only-one-actor-per-film policy keeps Wagner Moura's deserving turn as the Wolf in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish out of the Honorable Mentions. IMO, he should have been mentioned anyway.
Since this list specifies the top performances of this decade rather than all time, I can't complain about recency bias. However, at some point in the future, a Top 10 Best Voice Acting Performances from Classic Disney Films would be a welcome sight. Sterling Holloway's Winnie-the-Pooh, Walter Catlett's Honest John, Edward Brophy's Timothy Mouse, Betty Lou Gerson's Cruella de Vil, and J. Pat O'Malley's Cyril the Horse (a bit of a trotter, a bit of a rotter) might be included there.

I will say that a lot of these performances are good. I would've added:
. Lin Manuel Miranda as Vivo in Vivo
. Frank Welker as Scooby Doo in SCOOB
. Rodger Bumpass as Squidward in Sponge on The Run
. Wagner Moura as Wolf/Death in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish
. Chris Pine as King Magnifico in WISH

Ashleigh Ball as Nine in Sonic Prime and Grey Griffin as both Puppycorn on Unikitty, Lola, Lana and Lily Loud, Elwood on Kamp Koral and Zac Efron as Fred in Scoob also Lisa Kudrow as Honey in Housebroken and Nat Faxon as Chief and Frog in the Frog and Toad show with Kevin Michael Richardson as Toad.

To me, some of the greatest voice acting are the ones you couldn't recognize the actors that were voicing the character. If you watched a movie, see a character talking and didn't instantly think of an actor who's voicing it when you heard the character talk, that's phenomenal voice acting

Robert Pattison should be on the list (#2) and not an honorable mention. He has an incredible talent for altering his voice completely for his character. Smooth for Edward Cullen, raspy for the Heron, low for Bruce Wayne, high-pitched for Mickey. He is incredible!

I Absolutely Love Jack Black SO much as the Villainous Voice Role of Bowser Koopa from The Super Mario Bros. Movie last year in 2023! He was Super Hilarious and Awesome! Can't wait to hear him again as Bowser in The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2 Sequel Movie in 2026!

I love Stranger Things, so I was thrilled when I heard Maya was playing Anxiety. I’ve suffered from anxiety for 16 years, and I wound up crying in the theater. She nailed it

I adore voice actors. They all bring film to life. I’m sure it’s not easy, which makes it all the more magical. I’d love a video of just watching the actors recording!

I'm very confused as to why Robert Pattinson's performance was listed as an honourable mention, when it was a clearly better performance than 90% of this list.
reply

Robert Pattinson deserved to be in the top 10. NOT in the honorable mentions. You also left out a more recent entry, Lupita Nyong'o as Rozz in The Wild Robot.
reply

Maya Hawke and her lovable awkward and relatability persona, played a role in helping make a problematic character like Anxiety, not flat out hatable

This was a good list. Marcel is adorable. I wish they took it a few years back to include my favorite Cajun firefly Ray from Princess and the frog
