10 Celebs Who Tried to Warn Us About Nickelodeon

we’re taking a look at former Nickelodeon stars who tried to warn us of the network’s shady behavior. Our countdown includes Ariana Grande, Daniella Monet, Alasdair Gillis, and more! Which actor’s story about Nickelodeon shocked YOU the most Dan Schneider is the face of the filth but how come everyone focused on him and not making the actual pedophiles more famous. I’ll admit myself I was on the Dan hate train (rightfully so) but why focus on him when the Brian guy should be much more infamous. Feels like he’s getting a pass and should get just as much heat if not more. (This isn’t to exclude Schneider it’s just to bring more hate to the Brian guy or even the other pedophile whose name I don’t even remember.

I got around to watching the docuseries, and I lost track of how many times I hit pause because it was a lot to process; it would be a gross understatement to say that it was a difficult watch
These were the shows and people we grew up with, the shows that described '90s- 2000s
Like how people glamorize the golden age of hollywood, as kids, we have that dream of making it with nickelodeon or disney; because we're kids, we're not exactly going to understand how industries work, let alone the entertainment industry. People have this gross mentality of how kids are easy to take advantage of because we don't know what a safe and healthy work environment is, we don't understand the concept of employee rights, etc. But god forbid we get suspicious or muster the courage to speak out.
A part of me dreamed of making it in the industry at some point. I had a dance background, did gymnastics, color guard, had acting lessons, and walked in a fashion show. I wanted to walk the fashion show again because I enjoyed it; my outfit was cute, and I remember many people going up to my mom, saying I was a natural. My mom was supportive but had some worries; my dad, on the other hand, was dead set against it. For a while, I resented it because I thought, Great! You ruined my chance! Looking back, and as me too was at its peak and after watching quiet on set, it's scary to think what would've happened had both my parents let me go on with it

I was in Drake Bells band for 2 years. I was on set at the Amanda show many many times. Amanda would always vanish immediately after doing the takes and I remember her always seeming upset. Once I was wandering around back stage and I saw her in a very dark room crying alone. I never forgot that. I felt like I didn't understand some thing dark about her life. This was right after filming where she looked happy etc on the set. Also another time I was a T Building with Drake and a few other kids and we were just chillen by ourselves and one of the kids cracked a joke about Amanda having an abortion. It wasn't a dig at her it was like a dark overtone sarcastic crack. I was like Wait what does that mean and they all collectively kind of moved in rapidly to shut me out of that conv. I remember it because I felt like an outsider somehow but ya know Drake and I hung out every day. So I felt a little weird. Most of the stuff I saw was alright and everyone was chill on set and everything. But given how Amanda would act off set, I would 100% believe her if she said someone did something terrible to her there. You had to see it.

The only comment I want to make is that we should support those who chose to come forward, but not vilify those that don't. I've seen a lot of hate towards Miranda Cosgrove and others for not commenting. Their story could be totally different and it is their story to tell. Maybe they had a different experience. Maybe they have dealt with their trauma and don't want to revisit it. Don't disparage people for not commenting and focus on supporting those who have.
And I think the biggest tragedy of this whole situation is Jeanette McCurdy quitting acting due to the experiences she has had in the industry. I always thought she was a gifted physical comedian and a talented actress. But given he experiences with her mother and The Creator I'm glad that she didn't end up like so many other child stars.

This breaks my heart learning about everything recently. Like, I already knew Schneider as a creep with a foot obsession. But the Nickelodeon rabbit hole goes so much more deeper.
I feel betrayed. My favorite show up until the time I was 12 or 13 was SpongeBob, then after that for a few months The Loud House before I phased out of both shows for good, and having a lot of Nick shows being a huge part of my life it feels like a huge betrayal. I prefer to separate the art from the artist because of situations like this, but I don't know if I can keep watching any of the 3 or 4 Nick shows I still find interest in (those being iCarly, Avatar, and kind of Jimmy Neutron. I also want to check Invader Zim since I never saw that one.

Ever since Quiet on Set, several other former Nick stars have come out to share their opinions on the matter.
Jack Salvatore (better known as Mark Del Figgalo from Zoey 101) talking about some of the things he’s seen behind the scenes working on the writing team of some of Dan’s shows & spoke out against him, saying that until he makes a video of his side of the story with an actual journalist instead of a cast member from one of his shows, then the apology is not accepted.
As well, Allie Dimeco (who played Rosalina in The Naked Brothers Band) started speaking out about her own experiences from the show.

From the documentary, a lot of them just sounded like a bunch of whiners and complainers and were jealous. Plus went the lame route of using the race or gender excuse. All the black kids made it sound like Dan and Nickelodeon altogether were racist, but Kenan and Kel debunked that. Then Katrina Johnson just sounded like a whiner and was jealous because Amanda Bynes got what she (Katrina) wanted. Katrina just felt like she was entitled to be a bigger star and have her own show because she was there first. Plus she praised Amanda at first. Then once Amanda became bigger and got her own show, Katrina hated Amanda.

It's genuinely sad and disturbing to see how these various actors and actresses have been treated at Nick, especially with how many kids, myself included around the 2000s era, watched these shows.
It's kind of hard to look back on most of these shows in a positive light with all the damning evidence, and I have a feeling that Nickelodeon won't recover from this as the damage here is too high. I just hope the actors, actresses, and everyone else affected will recover from this horrible situation.

Dan Scheinderis the scapegoat. He surrounded himself with pedos because the higher ups allowed it. If they didnt want to air the episode they have that power. If they wanted to cancel the show, they could. They put Dan in place to make these shows for them to get off on it. When shit hits the fan, Dan gets blamed(as he should) but no one above him will get in trouble. Stop letting your children become actors, stop feeding your children to these sick pedophiles.

Dan also gave Amanda Bynes an exaggerated sense of celebrity to the point where she wanted to seperate herself from her parents when her parents tried to keep her ego in check. It’s speculated that Amanda Bynes developed mental health issues because Dan abandoned her after he helped her build her success. Dan Schneider then did the same thing with Ariana Grande. This explains why Ariana's career and public image has been declining for the past six years.

Actually, if you look at the interview, she gave out Ariana Grande where she spoke about the character she played, and she felt like they were trying to make her look dumb in real life because back in the day when I heard her speak with her voice like a real voice I was shocked on how she really sounded like and Just go look at the episode of victorious when they go to the beach I felt like I was watching an episode of an MTV show not Nickelodeon

As a kid I was really attracted to many of the girls, especially Zoey 101, never thought about the alligations that happened in these shows because again it was me as a kid. Throughout being an adult (28 now) they really did get away with the reveal clothing and how they were to act, it made me not enjoy the shows anymore. Nickelodeon would make an excuse saying it was 2003-09 10-17 the fashion was different back then on how teens were dressed.

Honestly, I watched quiet on set recently. It was very disturbing how nickelodeon could hire 4 child predators around kids. Jason Michael Handy, Brian Peck, Dan Schneider, and another guy forgot his name. they screwed up children lives and Brian Peck were friends with John Wanye Gacy, who even gave him a painting of himself to Peck. Nickelodeon and Dan Schneider should be ashamed of themselves as well held accountable for their actions

This is my childhood you're talking about. As well as my teenage years. Looking back now, you wanna know what I think
I think, just like The Matrix, Nickelodeon is the world that has been pulled over the eyes of children to blind them from the truth.
At least that's how you see it when you've watched other more grown-up shows like Breaking Bad, The Americans, Euphoria, American Horror Story and Game of Thrones.

Don’t forget when the Amanda Show when there was a man passing by with a pretzels cart. Amanda told him to that he was interrupting her show. She ask the audience they all wanted pretzels so the man said if you wanted all the pretzels I give you a free baby she agreed so he gave her a baby. He gave it to her and her smile faded I kinda felt bad because she was so 14 when Dan made the joke: (

Fun fact: Amanda Bynes turned down an interview to be on the Quiet on Set documentary. She told TMZ, I didn’t have the same experience on Nickelodeon like everybody else. She praised Nickelodeon for jumpstarting her career. And she never watched it either.
According to Amanda Bynes herself, her experience on Nickelodeon was good. She has no horror stories working for Nickelodeon.

My prayers go out to Drake Bell. Hearing him talking about these horrible things was never going to be easy. However, I hope what Drake did with his bravery can help other actors speak up about any personal misconduct. Drake Bell really did prove to me that when it comes to being a TV star, there is a sense of darkness, that even the bright lights of Hollywood can never hide.

I hope all of them the child actors that were wrong and can look in the mirror one day and actually say that the room to choose something and that Ruster is people can look forward to Nickelodeon where it’s not a toxic work environment where it’s an environment that we know that the kids are safe, because it saddens me that they were not safe and what they talk about
reply

To be honest: most people who don’t talk signed an NDA. This isn’t even new info and apart from that we all own Alexa Nikolas apologies because she has been talking about this for years and so many people called her names and that she only wants attention.
Still to this day they do even actors from other shows (like Ned Declassified. This ain’t right.

I didn't see most of the shows mentioned here. My era started around when NICK 1st started, getting shows like YCSTOTV and Pinwheel. Today's Special was another one I thought of typing this comment. It sucks that the kids there didn't get the protection they needed. It was a dream to be a NICKstar myself, so glad that it was just that, a dream.
