It's pretty clear how Steve Kloves ruined Ron's character at the expense of making Hermione more brilliant. In the first novel, Hermione was the one panicking in the Devil's Snare scene while Ron was calm and collective, but because they cut the potions riddle, and Ron would have his moment with the chess game, they had to give the Devil's Snare to Hermione. Which may have had good intentions by giving each of the main trio a puzzle to solve (Harry's was the flying keys, but little did we know how much of a snowball effect that decision would cause.
Also, I don't think Ron or Harry would have appreciated Hermione using magic to make Cormac move and get scored on so Ron would get the Keeper position.
And the dance scene in DH1 was another way the films did the youngest Weasley kids dirty, as Hermione's mind was on Ron and Harry's was on Ginny in the novel, even if its main purpose was to give Harry and Hermione a distraction to cheer them up. Hopefully the new TV series won't try to push Harry and Hermione together despite both spending their childhoods in the Muggle world, and have Hermione alter her parents' memories so she could find them later instead of erasing herself from said memories. However, I won't say no to a few Hermione focused episodes if they want to show her brilliance in other ways.

Forgot: bringing them to the Forest of Dean after escaping the Ministry when Yaxley grabbed her and shook him off at Sirius place or finding Bathilda dead & runs to save Harry and staying with Harry and the Mission when Ron demands to know who shes choosing when he leaves. In the books: she steals ingredients from Snapes office during class, organized SPEW even though made fun of and eventually makes it a law as an adult, hiding Rob under the cloak while escaping Death Eaters at Lunas house, keeps herself together while wearing the Horcrux while Harry and Rob act up when they do, figuring out the food situation while hiding, figuring out Snapes trap in Stone, taking care of Harry when they escaped Voldemort from Bathildas house, and becoming Minister of Magic

My absolute favorite Hermione moment in the series, wasn't in the movie either, at the end of GOF, revealing on the train home she had kidnapped and imprisoned Rita Skeeter in a jar in her illegal beetle form and blackmailed her to stop writing for the Dailey Prophet paper, or she'd be turned into the Ministry as an unregistered animagis, smart and evil, she would've done well in Slytherin too

Hermione's one of those people who basically cares about her friends deeply and would go out of her way for them. One other thing I always loved about her is she doesn't tolerate bull$h! t and would speak up for herself especially to Draco. Emma Watson was great as Hermione. No one could do her justice.

Hermione punching Draco in the movie is indeed much more satisfying than the slap in the book. But what makes the movie version more satisfying is that, after she punches Draco, he also hits the back of his head on the rock behind him. So basically, it was a double damage.
