A lot of these are from the beginning of singers careers, so thats probably a big reason. Also, like with the One Republic song Come Home, some are slower, and One Republic is known by their faster / happier songs, so maybe that plays into it. Also, specifically in the case of American Boy, it just doesnt really work in my opinion. The melody is really high and mostly the same note, and the rap is so jarringly different and stands out, in a bad way. These qualities have, to be fair, made it more well known among the younger audience that she was referring to through Chug Jug With You.
All that being said, one song that I really like is Afterlife, and Im gonna be honest that one is probably most deserving of being more popular on this list.
Lastly, a disclaimer that it is obviously okay to love these songs with every fiber of your being and completely disagree with me. These are just my two cents on the video.

Complicated is my favorite Avril Lavigne, I danced to Maneater a lot on my old Just Dance 4 game I first played when I was only 9 years old and I loved it, and some children from three different primary schools plus a senior student from my high school danced to What Are You Waiting For a School Musical Performance, What Are You Waiting For is my second favorite song by Gwen Stefani behind Sweet Escape, and I haven't heard the song Who Knew since I was little and now I've been watching that song more today and giving more love for these songs then I use to in the past.

American Boy was a great song, but would've been appreciated more without Voldemort on it.
I wish Girls Aloud would've been introduced to the U. S. So many good songs. Only reason I knew about them was because of the U. S. version of Pop Stars leading me to check out the winners from other countries' versions of the show.

Afterlife has been my ringtone since Hailee released it! Ive loved her for so long, I never understood why she wasnt recognized more!
And Wicked Games has been my game for soooo long I loved it so much. That was the first song I heard of Ables and thats what made me love The Weeknd.
