At age 19 I suffered an illness that nearly killed me. On a particular day, my heart stopped and as everything went dark, immediately I was aware that I felt very light, weightless, as if I had no body, its so hard to explain. I was not the one that felt love or peace, I was that Love and Peace and Beauty. I was surrounded with the most beautiful flowers and plants I couldnt name their names or colors. The grass was glistening around me. I felt home, I belonged there, its what I am. As chest compressions were bringing me back to life, I felt being pulled back into a darkness, this world and somewhat disappointed to return. This world felt like a dark dream and the State of pure stillness I was in, felt more real. My mom describes my face having the look of a dead person yet peaceful and almost a subtle smile. My parents were atheists and when I described this experience to them, they said I was dreaming. Its so hard to describe to someone the indescribable. Its been 20 years yet its still fresh in my heart that indescribable beauty, love and peace.

Waking up with a breathing tube is very unfun. I was in an induced coma after having my son due to complications and was PISSED upon waking. I had to wait 20 mins for a respiratory therapist to come pull out the breathing tube. Unfun.
