8 hardest keys to find in video games

But nothing got me stuck like the child version of the Spirit Temple. Had me stumped for over a year, missing one key. I turned over every damn bit of that place looking for it, coming up with nothing. Even restarted my whole game and still got stuck in the Spirit Temple. Never gave up, though, and eventually I discovered an eye switch inside a pit in a small L shaped room, where you push a giant block into as Adult Link. That was the absolute hardest key for me to find in all the games I played.

FYI on Banjo Kazooie: that ice key is useless in the game it's in because it's a relic of a cut feature. Rare wanted to do a 'hot swap' mechanic where, without turning the N64 off, you could swap Banjo and Donkey Kong 64 to get some content between the two games, and that key was somehow part of it. They apparently had the feature fully working before they even showed Nintendo, who squashed it with fears that swapping games while a system was on might damage the games or system.

I'm gunna say it, the water temple was no where near as bad as you remember it. I know, I am in the minority, but the water temple is an example of how Zelda dungeons should be. It requires you to understand the entire dungeons layout and how it interacts with itself/world for you to progress. BotW was a bad Zelda game because it forgot this. Than again i think the best Zelda is Links Awakening tied with Oracle of Ages

Is the 3ds version of OOT the same as the N64 as far as the water dungeon? I ask, cause I played that version first, as an adult and got through the first try with no backtracking or guides and then didn't find out that it was like some legendary frustration in video gaming until watching videos about Zelda afterward. I had more trouble with some of the other parts of that game tbh.

The Water temple is legit one of the best Zelda temples. People just didn't understand 3D games at that point so checking under the elevator didn't even occur to them. Also you mention that there's a lot of backtracking but the distance to everything is actually crazy well designed with the elevator shaft being at the center of it all, including both the entrance and the boss.

Having beaten Hell in Spelunky a number of times now, the process to get there becomes so ingrained in your mind that you almost consider it the default path through the game from trying so many times. Funny to remember how actually annoying it is from the outside.

Whilst not a key finding the cross in the msx version of -The maze of Galious- was so incredibly hard back in the days of no internet I never knew anyone who found it outside myself and I gained a spot in the Konami software club magazine for my efforts.

You guys should look at inscription, there are 2 keys in it that unlock weird bosses. One is pretty straightforward on how to get but pretty obscure on how to use, the other is pretty obscure on how to get while really straightforward on how to use.

Not the hardest but battlefield 4 had the phantom quest for the bow had to find the hidden tags then 4 people with the other tags all get in a elevator just for a bow that they gave everyone free 8 months later with out doing the steps

They totally patched in the Ice Key usage cause I remember reading an article in Total64 say that is was supposed to be use for an up coming expansion to the game via the 64DD which was only released in JP.
