kaels old voice actor from wc3 was perfect, so much better than this new guy after quinten was fired. yet in the wc3 remake they made him a beefy he-man face, which doesn't fit him. and lore wise he was retconned twice, from turning him into a mustachioed cackling villian the moment he set foot in outland to a full on second retconning in shadowlands where he becomes a pompous childish brat which they punish him for, yet which he never was. he was retconned that that is what he was but he never really was that! and honestly he was a quiet spoken prince (yes with some princly arrogance but not evil) up until the retcon as you can see from his voice in wc3 and the books vs shadowlands and the new terrible voice actor. shame they shat on his lore so much, and to this day he's denied justice. the writing really is bad, or else so many people wouldn't be upset. you can bring in new material without tearing up lore of old beloved charchters. it's like in TBC when they first retconned him and just suddenly make him and Vashj ultimate evils cause they wanted a quick boss to throw in, but vashj being female gets off the hook like Sylvanas gets off for genocide, but kael and Arthas for things they couldn't control get punished. i say this as a woman. they wrecked what could've been endless awesome story to grow as kaels charchter devoloped to secure the belfs but instead they just knocked him off as cliched baddies. lazy stuff for deadlines and a quick check cause they needed a boss in tbc, now they are like Disney unable to create any new good stuff without milking the husks of good charachters. if they were respectful to kael and vashj true lore, we could be teaming up with them to kill the scourge and fight the sanlayn or even have kael lead the sanlayn in the better direction. endless opportunities. or even just closure would've been nice for these long time heroes where kael at least gets justice. i can only cope by telling myself he made a clone of himself to leave in shadowlands, while the real him peaced out to Dota2 as the Invoker.

I see people being all like -I hate what they did to Kael- no he did it to himself when he willfully accepted fel magic, even tried to argue with illidan who said no first. After he got the fel magic he turned, it's not a matter of -they destroyed his character- no he destroyed it himself by seeking out power, then showed no remorse for it after the fact. He swore allegiance to Kiljaeden either way. His story was never meant to be the good leader of the elves, he was supposed to parallel Arthas story of seeking out power for their people and kingdoms but succumb to the corrupt. In the end Kael'thas is no better than Arthas.

Why was Kel'Thuzad not sent to the Maw like Arthas? That makes no sense. In fact, what Arthas did was try to save his people. Once he picked up Frostmourne, his soul was literally taken and corrupted, and he no longer had a choice in his actions. Kel'Thuzad had a choice the whole time, he betrayed his people and was the one to send out the Plague of Undeath all across Lordaeron. Nice writing Blizzard. As always.

Shadowlands. The land of the dead.
Where characters and NPCs still die to become dispersed anima/soul energy. Just like in Azeroth. I mean, nothing like Azeroth! Just like. the eternal lands of the Shadowland dimension.
Make sense if you like bad story writing.

whoa. this is so cringy i cant even.
Damn, this game has truly fallen in almost every aspect.
Kaelthas and Kelthuzad are my favorite side kicks in all of WoW and they butched them.
Cant they just let the dead remain dead?

Imagine fighting kel with kael at your side and then something like
Wait. I remember you. You killed me.
And then they realize that it's you who defeated them both for two times.
Would be such an awkward moment

Blizzard bringing back old lore characters for the nostalgia (mutilating them in the process) is akin to going to Disney land and seeing people dressed as movie characters, knowing it's not actually them.

I like how the stories of Bastion, Maldraxxus, and Revendreth are all wound together and have so much interplay and meanwhile Ardenweald is just off in the corner like -mmmmm trees. -

Arthas is coming. again!
Kel'thuzad is coming. again!
Can Blizzard just admit already that they're incapable of making interesting original characters since 2002?

The fact that Kael-thas hasn-t got story with the venthyr is really lame. Can the blood bois now please have some cool Azeroth hero instead of just suramar 2. 0?

- 2: 11, if you happen to be a blood elf character, Kael'thas will instead say:
-Hmph. It must be so humiliating for you to see your beloved prince in chains. -

Very well done. I like how you are providing these, so that people who don't have the time to play each Covenant storyline can experience everything in the expansion.

Blizz really needs to up their storytelling. It's so poorly written at this point (really since Cata. There's like 0 meaning to anything anymore.

Man the VA really nailed kael in these scenes. Could really hear the emotion when he was talking about his home and his past actions.

How does Reforged look so much worse then then WC3? Every time I see it it just reminds me why activision doesn't deserve more money.

The Ravendreth story is the weakest and most -cringy- of all of them.
And with Ardenwald, that's saying something.

Game's cinematic graphics are worse than a Playstation 2 and people still fork over money for it. Amazing.
