Wasn't Nathantos originally one of the few humans that, with his praise worthy character and talent with the bow, was allowed to be taught archery from the high elves? And the love story between Sylvanas and him were rumoured to be one that could bring their people closer?
Fine retcon to use an expansion to change that so he fits this new bad guy plot.

I-ve never had so much respect for both Tyranda and Nathanos, recently I haven-t cared for Tyrandas character and Nathanos has never been a favorite but they both showed an amazing side of themselves, they honestly believe in Their crusades and seeing them like that was slightly chilling.

I think he knew he was dead the second she obliterated his dogs without even looking.
But the fact she then went on to body him and kill him WITHOUT using her powers atall, was Tyrande just making a point that she didn't need them to deal with him.

IDC what people say, Tyrande has always been a balance druid with a bow and glyph of stars. All her attacks that aren't use of a weapon come right off the balance druid list, from WC3 all the way into WoW.
