What if all of the countries in the Americas joined the United States? All of Canada's provinces and Mexico's states becoming US states (along with any of the other countries that are similarly subdivided into states. provinces, etc? All of the smaller nations throughout Central and South America becoming states themselves. What would happen to the US economy? Our standing on the global stage? Would nations on other continents want to join a US that just doubled inside, or would the rest of the world see us as a threat because we got TOO big? I've actually wondered about this one for years.

And since French is the official language of Quebec, I would consider it Latin America also. I would to some extent including the Southwest USA and Florida, Latin America as well since there is a lot of Spanish is spoken there too.
I decided to extend my comment opinion further. Since we call Latin America the region where Latin base languages are spoken as the official language. There we should also consider a Latin Africa too, because a huge chunk of Africa speaks French and Portuguese, only Equatorial Guinea speaks Spanish.

First start using legalism; use STRICT rewards & punishments, then use propaganda & media (to spread a combined language Spanish & Portuguese -Galician-) While also providing ONLY positives to the desperate in each country (Maybe use a monarchy that provides all the main ethnic type. Essentially be Methodical, draconian, & technologically advanced. Then when all is United, make it liberal with its rules. So that all the whipped & content folks will follow the proceduresz

I've always asked this question since it's very interesting. And as for the official languages, why not have Galician as the official main language? If you combine Spanish and Portuguese you pretty much get Galician. I speak these 3 languages and you have no idea how easy it can be to learn Galician if you speak both Spanish and Portuguese. This wonderful language needs more recognition!

I love and know most of these countries, they struggle to organise and govern themselves so to coordinate a mega nation would be the biggest mess on the planet. Not sure where this idea comes from but it's ludicrous. There would be chaos not that it would ever materialise as each government would protect it's own interests

I feel like if Latin America did unite, they would try to take control over The Philippines, world powers have always been trying to take these islands for hundreds of years and I doubt Latin America would be different, especially since The Philippines was a former Spanish colony which may have them butt heads with USA for it

The only thing holding back Latin America from doing so is Latin America itself.
Argentina, as an example, was toe to toe with the US and the UK economically up until the Great Depression. It has been a mess since.
