Carl Sagan worked on a report that spelled out the likelihood and severity of a potential nuclear winter following a large exchange. Some time later, he recanted and withdrew his report, as it appeared not very likely a nuclear winter would take place at all. Further, if the majority of the exchange took place in the Northern hemisphere, the South would not be severely affected at all, other than having to cope with streams of refugees and the possibility of ongoing conflict spreading South. Radiation would be down to manageable levels in the space of a couple of months, most fires extinguished or burned out, and airborne particles largely settled, with little damage to the ozone layer. Radiation overall, would stabilise in the near term, at a bit higher than normal background radiation. Sagan was brave to contradict his own initial opinion.

The us will definitely start WWIII and it will be connected to 'american exceptionalism'.
I think at some point, that exceptionalism will be taken too far by a worse version of trump and force other countries to intervene. Some of it's allies will decline to back them and those that do back them, will have to deal with being led by american military, which will present issues with conduct and tactics that generally consist of blowing things up and shooting anything that moves, while their opponents will use attrition to bankrupt the us.
I think a nuclear attack will be the final straw and the us will be pretty much isolated, its arrogance ultimately being its downfall.

They would provide -allies - with weapons and applaud their fight for 'freedom'. As a result, the capital of all countries would flow to the United States, and the United States would be able to solve their huge debt crisis and inflation and make war money again, just like they did in WWII

Wars need to be solved by whatever countries involved the presidents or leaders need to catch the head up 1v1, and whoever win, win the war with no death on either side. Then it's broadcast worldwide so everyone know who won and lost. But hey that's probably done in a perfect world.
