All organism need 'OXYGEN' to live but the concentration of atmospheric oxygen cannot be above 40 %
100% pure oxygen is 'POISONOUS' and will drive organisms to death!
Highly concentrated oxygen can corrode 'IRON' in a matter of seconds, and can make fire explode and it can absorb electrons in the human body to destroy our cells.
If you breath to much of it, first your hand and feet will go numb, and you won't be able to stand!
The capillart veins in your eyes break and go blind.
100 % pure oxygen will sink deeper and deeper into your tissues and slowly you lose consciousness.

I almost did last week! I was at work at night as the lead on the weekend. Started to smell something odd, even a few days before, but this day particularly it got worse so called up boss, they got here, as they came in the building they just kept saying out out out, it was indeed a gas leak from a building next to us. That whole 4 building complex woulda gone BOOM if there was even a spark when it was in the flash zone. And it must have been at some point. We popped doors and fire people came, turned off the line fixed things.

How can every thing burn. Oxygen only supports combustion. Without a fuel or any thing else apart from oxygen. There will be no burning. Oxygen can't burn alone. It needs any else to burn so it can support it. Are you telling me that oxygen can burn alone. If you light a match, it's only the match that will burn unless it's in contact with any thing that can burn. So how will fire spread if you are only burning a match which is not in contact with any thing that can burn?

Saw some guy who calculated that in a 100% oxygen environment, spiders could eventually get up to 4 feet tall. This might not sound too bad because a 6 feet tall man would not be attacked because spiders don't attack things larger than themselves except in self defense. But, what if a man bent down to tie his shoes? All of a sudden, a 4 feet tall spider would see him as prey and attack him.

Another factor is all oxygen means no carbon dioxide, which means the Earth would be frozen over because there would be nothing to hold the heat in. If our carbon dioxide level just dropped to half of what it is now, we'd go into another ice age.

Funny how they don-t even mention the other 6 ways to receive oxygen. If earth was 100% oxygen we wouldn-t just be breathing it. We-d be receiving it through our pores, through our own saliva while swallowing, and so on.

100% Pure zero chemical interaction oxygen IS NOT FLAMMABLE. Its the helium that's flammable, methane in some CASES. But pure 100% oxygen with ZERO interaction with ANY other chemical elements IS NOT FLAMMABLE.

The fire thing is very exaggerated. Sure, combustion reactions would be accelerated, but oxygen is not flammable by itself. The match you struck would burn really quickly and intensely, and that-s just about it.
