I feel like this is kind of wrong. She was afraid AI would make it difficult to get a job so her first thought is to be the one to advance so that lack of job is somebody else's problem I understand that that is not what the video is trying to talk about, but it still seems like kind of a poor decision on her part. Also while we do place our trust in other humans in our day to day lives, she was also using AI in order to write own resume, and find a book, both of which are skills humans ought to have autonomy to be capable of, not just because they are important in our day to day lives, and your resume is supposed to show your own skills, not an AI's, but because if humans become so obsolete as to be unable to perform such basic tasks it could affect life's meaning, and lead to a world where people lack the work ethic or responsibility to do anything. I don't think that, even if made to be as perfectly functioning as possible, that AI should replace our major institutions because our current robotic bureaucracy already leads to a number of issues because it is a system without abstract thought that operates without examining each case on a personal level, in addition to the other issues with AI. For example, a police officer may stop a man who was speeding on his way to see his wife who is in labor, but could have the understanding of the circumstances to let the man off with a warning, while an AI may not be able to understand the ever changing and endless number of circumstances that occur within our world individually.

The best way I have heard it explained yet, is that even with current AI technology, we have basically created the equivalent of quite intelligent bees. in that it is only really very intelligent at performing a single specific task, or a small selection of related abilities.
The dangerous step is AGI.
Artificial General Intelligence, that is super intelligent in many tasks. that's the one we need to be afraid of and that could see humanity as obsolete or an obstruction.
But. the best solution I have seen suggested yet, is that if AGI does develop. we could try to convince it that humans are cute. That way, that way it may actually be benevolent to us. just as we currently are to other species we see as cute

Please make a video on mind reading and thought implantation. Will technology or AI ever be able to read my mind or implant thoughts into it remotely

It's a moot point. Geopolitics won't permit a country to not create ASI and personally I don't think it's a bad thing. Who knows, if we survive it it may finally replace politicians altogether in a few decades and we will finally be able to have peace. The current political environment is in an AI arms race because ASI will represent a technological explosion unlike anything the world has ever seen. The country that's last to the table with ASI will be forever behind and at the mercy of the one(s) that get there first.

In reality Ai is going to be the educated well spoken customer service representative with 15 years of experience. Talking to a human will be way more stressful, slow and troublesome. Ai will talk in your language, your accent and it will predict what you need before you need it. Recently i have tried ai drive through ordering and it was faster, better and more pleasant than a human taking the order. 20-30 years from now talking to a human customer service representative will be like talking to a 3 year old.

Like I've said before, as a disabled person, I'm super excited about the capabilities of AI. It has, and will continue to make my life so much easier and more fulfilling. For everybody else We're gonna have to figure out how to live with it It's already being abused, but hopefully we'll be able to minimize the cost while maximizing the benefits. We can hope!
And I didn't like the Ada series at first, but I have to say that I've gotten attached. Keep them coming!

Can’t believe they overlooked the outcome of entry level jobs disappearing and that to get a higher level job that hasn’t been replaced by ai you must be born into enough money to go to school. Separating the population into the hopelessly impoverished and the disgustingly wealthy over time. Ai would create a mountainous valley which stops people who came from nothing having the opportunity to work hard and make enough money to live decently unless they were born into generational wealth

No. With CEOs at the reigns that only care about short-term profit maximization, continuing at this time would have disastrous results. CEOs don't care about safety anymore, just putting out the new big thing. Even if they build an AI that listens to them, UBI is unlikely, given rich people are already gutting our existing welfare institutions. We need to stop them before it becomes irreversable.

I feel like the bomb threat in the video wasn’t actually an error but using AI and predictive policing to stop crimes before they happen. As AI improves, its reasoning might reach a point we might never be able to understand, and if humans are left to blindly believe in them, wouldn’t that be the same as humans creating a God Are we even capable for creating a God

Can't take this seriously. Linking directly to citations has been standard. Also, doesn't even matter. The question isn't how much info does the AI get right, it's how much more often does it get it right than the librarian, how often does it properly look up the answer compared to the librarian. People aren't infallible just because they are people.

Crazy how they didn’t consider that AI replacing entry-level jobs would make upward mobility nearly impossible. If you’re not born into wealth, affording education for higher-level jobs becomes a privilege, not a possibility. Over time, this just widens the gapleaving the poor with no way up and the rich with even more control.

It is weird how when I was younger, I was taught that robots would take boring and tedious jobs and leave room for artistic careers. How wrong that was. Art and media instead is the first to be affected and attempted to be replaced by AI, it does not change the fact that AI is a great tool but it shouldn't ever replace humans.
