You know, I find it crazy that in regards to my depression (as an INFJ) I wasn t allowed at all to talk about what was going on in my family. If I showed a lick of anger, or sadness, or anything that wasn t agreeable, it was shut down immediately by laughs, mockery, or stop being dramatic.
A lot of the time I honestly felt like I was a guy because I felt I was being forced into a stoic role I had little friends as well because I was too afraid to talk about anything that was on my mind, thinking (because of the emotional abuse) that whatever opinion or thought I had was a waste of time, so I just focused on my work.
What friends I did have, well, a lot of them didn t even see anything deeper than myself that would just be silly and would joke around; they never knew anything about the deeper levels, until I met my best friend who also became my husband.
I was stuck in depression since I was very young, and it was followed with PTSD, and I had even told my therapist that if everyone was clapping excitedly, my clapping felt like golf clapping.

As an INFJ-INFP (I'm getting different results with the language of the test I'm taking)
I found that I feel depressed pretty frequently.
Sometimes I feel like I'm overexaggerating. But after I finally get through a long hardship I realize the real magnitude of the emotional impact of what I've experienced.
Worst thing about this is I never get a solid support.
Not from friends nor family.
I cannot socialize because of my location (middle of nowhere) and for some reason my family always manages to increase the burden that I'm experiencing rather than understanding it.
I ask for personal time and they remind me of that I SHOULD find a job etc (gee I didn't knew that mom too bad that 95& of the businesses ask for release from military enlistment which I don't even know if I'm going to be enlisted because I have vision loss in my left eye -my eye is another thing that bothers me btw-)
They treat me like a teenager while ask me to help them like a 40 year old and it's infuriating.

i used to always been an extrovert, ever since i was a little kid, i used to be lovable & social but i experienced a pretty traumatizing experience when i was just 10 years old when my pet died and none of my family members seemed to care about it which led to depression & PTSD. ever since then i went through all the bullying, betrayals and family members dying. i started feeling numb to the feeling and empty and i dont know how to put it all in the open cz my family has always been a closed book and i kept bottling my feelings for 5 years. i became an INFJ/ISFJ last year but i didnt seem like it cz depression really kept a hold on me but tbh i kinda like the feeling to be depressed cz idk who i am without it.

I knew it. it s a blessing and a curse. I give myself close to no benefit of doubt or forgiveness. That self hate also drives me to be better or perfect as to not hurt anyone else. I view close to all of my breakups as my fault, although in truth only half of them would probably be caused by me. Although it has bettered me, I do not wish it upon anyone else. I constantly torture myself in my mind and destroy my self confidence. No matter how much better I become, the feeling of being drowned constantly is not a fun one. So to those who suffer the same, know that I love you and you re good enough! You re a lot stronger than you know, it s just usually hidden behind everything.

The fact that introverted men are more susceptible to depression than introverted women lies with a social issue: the empathy gap
Society has little empathy for men relative to women; men get raised to believe that they're a burden and ain't shit except for what they provide
Men get told to help others with their problems and shut up about their own
And there's a lack of safe spaces for men to open up
I mean there's a reason why men make up for 70 to 80% of the suicide rate

What's depression?
Your pride and ego are torn away - you see, it is your self-worth that is eroded, confidence is dissolved, you are left with a skeleton of yourself. The reality of what you are come into full focus: the veneer of future prosperity, and the false adornments of hope are all lost - humility takes root, for you see the fragility of what constitutes an acceptable life, not a good one.

This might be rare
Lmao I gotta say it
I dont have depression
I only go through high levels of stress sometimes in exams and stuff
And I am almost grateful for my life though excluding the stress full situations
- this ideology in itself brings me a bit of calmness to me and gratitude

Hey Psych2go! I was hoping you could make a video about how to deal with depression for introverts since we introverts struggle to open up to someone, even friends and family. I would really appreciate it. Thanks Psych2go!

Omg this video was so relatable, as a fellow Gen Z-er, I feel like INFPs tend to struggle more. Btw, Psych2Go, have you heard of FantaClaus? It's a cool AI tool that can make commenting even more interactive!

I think people who are smart and introvert are prone to depression
They are usually left out. people are like she's smart she won't understand you or either they are jealous and will not speak to you

In a world full of lazy, ignorant fools that is falling prey to a bunch of hyper-narcissist parasites with a god complex, everybody with two brain cells and a pulse is prone to depression.

I'm INFP-T and I have depression because of my introversion. I'm also a creative writer and a photographer and I love both, but these are ways to express my thoughts and feelings to people.

Crying like a baby after watching this. You nailed it with the Neuroticism and being introverted. I have a real hard time losing people lately. But it's worth it for my health.

Intp here, but I'm in the 50-70% for each of those types relative to the other ones (ie, I vs E, 70% I with 20-30ish E) I'm extroverted in certain circles but not as a baseline
