Dear psycho2goers community,
Please read this to the end.
I just want true friends & family who are not just willing to listen to what I have to say, but be apart of my struggles & success.
The problem is, most people just want something to take from you untill you have nothing. They don't want to be apart of the struggles, or keep your trust especially your deepest darkest secrets. Most parents who have kids, they just wanted kids bcuz they care too much of what other people think if they don't, or some of them just actually wanna let go of those lust without having thinking deeper future ahead for the child, or another one, they do actually wanna a child but have no idea to parent at all, or just follow how their parents parent them & bring that parenting style on their child. The biggest mistakes for dear future parents, even though I'm not one. Don't be so selfish of yourself. Once you have children, the next generation is born, & you must know how to guide them properly. Take parenting books, & also beware that you will make mistakes, cuz there's no such thing as perfect parents, cuz we're human, also there no such thing as perfect parenting books, cuz there could be wrong ones. The most important, realize you will make mistakes, & just remember not to repeat them over & over once you do them, by not letting your ego as parents in the way. My parents currently right now how they work, in the past I was emotionally abused, absent almost all them time by my parents, also same with school but also including physically abuse. Now, I'm an adult, they just realize their mistakes very little bit in their 50s, there are still other things that, I just wish I don't have to face it or exist in the first place. Now, I'm feeling so invisible in life. I just found out my true purpose & goals & dreams that I wanted to do, but sadly no one in my life understands it. I'm not smart academically, & most parents would be over praise with grades & overanxious or angry if their child gets a bad grade. My advice is, not everyone is study or academic smart. Some people are entrepreneurials or artistically or entertainers or sporty or athletic talented. Just bcuz they dumb at academics doesn't mean their dumb in life. Dear 99% parents, we're not your retirement plan, we're not your trophy or degrading embarrassment to you if we failed, we are born to find our own path in this world, & it is your job to guide & help us no matter what happens, not to demotivate us. Food, shelter, & water alone is not enough for a child. They need physical, emotional, unconditional love & understanding & trust so they can live a more much happier life. In my case, I only mostly get food, water, shelter & that's it. I wish I can meet true, motivating, passionate people one day, bcuz chasing your dreams all alone, with no real people in my life & the people around you that all you know is 99% fake, is only going want to be at your biggest success, not struggles, and It is the most difficult challenge in life.

My parents use this thing where whenever I try to speak about how I truly feel, they laugh (mom chuckles a lot) and overall give me signs of its just a phase and stuff and maybe it is! But this thing daily steals my self confidence and mood. recently my mentor, who is also a school special worker have told me I have depressive mood and signs of starting depression. Im feeling she might be right and so ive allowed her to call my parents to talk. ever since the mood at home is even worse, with them acting as if I was just begging for attention. maybe I am. I dont even know anymore. im overly sensitive about normal stuff I know. but well. i dont know what I want to say anymore
Its just

I could say my mom is a mix of neglect and joking parents. Since i have 2 younger brothers she tend to give more extra care to them and i was left alone doing things on my own like almost the whole time. But at the same time she complains about almost every detail of me, from the way i style, my hair (she said im going to bald soon everytime like shes really hoping for it, my legs (she thinks they are too big 'for a girl, the way i laugh, till how my voices changes when im angry. Even my square face- she tells me aleays that my face shape is really ugly. I mean, i was born this way. And sadly youre the one who gave birth to me. If only i could ask i didnt want to be born to such a mean mom tho.

My parents' approach has taught me both how to and how not to treat my future children (I think there's some good in what they do and know they mean well, but don't want my child to go through what I did. My parents have a very authoritarian approach, I think mostly because I was an only child which means high expectations, but in a way this pushed me to do better, although to this day I have trouble making decisions on my own and struggle with a lot of anxiety, low self-esteem etc. that can be partly attributed to this. I don't think it's a great method, but I've definitely learnt a lot from it.

My parents are semi- permissive if you ask for example a xbox or video game currencies. Theyll give it to you. But they put boundaries to protect us. But as I got older I realized that more and more of this permissive behavior from my parents were becoming a problem. If my sister were to act up they would give in to her. And since my mom is always busy with work. She doesnt have the time to punish. My dad is a very permissive person if you ask for anything most likely hell give it to you. Ive despised this from my parents for about 2 months now.

My mom used to be Neglectful but now she is the Authoritarian. She is also kinda spoiling me, but it's typically just blackmailing for when I mess up.
She literally buys me things even though I don't need or want them, but when she gets mad at me, she pretends as if I asked her to buy those things. I never asked anything from her (except for my iPhone 6s and computer, I even tell her sometimes that she doesn't have to. In fact, when I want something, I don't tell her anymore.
Edit: she gets over supportive at times, and I just hate it

So this is the impact joking parents had on me:
So I have joking parents i am constantly compared to others as a joke and constantly calling me bones because of the fact Im extremely skinny and dont gain any weight. and I was told today by multiple people that I was pretty but I didnt believe them because of everything Ive been called. (Note Im apologizing for any improper grammar Spanish is the language I speak the most and Im still learning and Im bad at online school)

As time passed I can see that depending on the moment in life my parents were different types of parents presented.
I also want to add that no matter the type. of parents you have you are not responsible for their behaviour, it's all up to them and their own experiences.
Many parents put the responsibility of their actions onto the kids but it's only their responsibility.
Always remember that it's not your fault, Thier behaviour, their fault, period.

This is so true.
I feel like a toy. I really hate to be born as a girl, because there is not a little bit of freedom example - my parent always decided - what kind of clothes I must wear, where to go? , cannot have friends, whom I am allowed to talk to, what kind of career to choose, etc.
If I didn't listen so I am dead.
I really hate myself because of my parent. Hopefully, in my next birth, I can be born as a boy, life will be a little bit easy.

reply

Oof my mom is quite difficult. I mean uh. she's very caring and gives me the freedom I need in fact, I'm usually allowed to do almost anything I want. That kind of parent that could raise a spoiled brat. But sometimes she keeps saying stuff that actually hurts me a lot. Just the remark of how fat I am or how terrible my style is. I dont think she noticed that. And when it comes to arguments she gets very abusive not only verbal but also physical.
reply

I get negative attention but when i actually need attention I don't get it. i never get to explain myself! I'm told to say quiet even though i Don't even speak much. I'm not good at studies so i get compared to my friends and indirectly told that I'm embarrassing myself. I don't bother asking for any attention or love anyways now. my sister is better at studies than me so maybe she sees her as a better and more stable option?
reply

my mom controls me. she scolds me and guilt trips me if i do something wrong, even if i spill some water. I can clean it up but she just always guilt trips me. first she brings up her problems, then she brings up all the bad things ive done in the past. im a super sensitive person so i feel agitated and i cry, but no, my mom just has to scold me for every single thing i do. thats why i cry at night, that way no one sees me.
reply

My mom is a 100% a combination of an authoritarian and abusive parent and I wanna tell parents like mine that
Your words hurt much more than your punishments. It can make a child feel worthless and unwanted so pls. Don't act so SMART like you know everything cuz the thing is you dont. Change as early as possible don't let your actions lead up to ur children actually and genuinely hating you for all their life.

reply

My parents have always impacted my life as Im a teenager for example, my dad is alcoholic too much that he wants to blame me over something. And now I feel betrayed by my mom cause due to how much I tried to fix my mistakes she didnt even care about me anymore.
All of this has made me feel like Ive been Verbal Abuse as Im the first child out of the two siblings. So this make sense to me.

reply

I've got an authoritarian mother and a permissive father. They got divorced early on in my life and I got to live with my mother while going to see my father every other week. Both got remarried, with a doormat of a stepmom an a fusion of authoritive and neglectful for a stepfather (is supportive and what not, but we generally ignore each other)
reply

My parents are pretty sweet.
I asked my dad if i can learn how to cook and he did allow me. I make deals with my mom like if i pass my test i can get legos or something. They answer my questions which creates a bridge between us.
Story:
One time i saw a cool bouncy ball i liked and told my mom that if i can bounce it in i get it.
I did it

reply

Mine is probably authoriatarian parents because whenever I feel sad, they will just say some insulting stuff and phrases that doesn't even fit the situation. Also when I was a kid, my parents will get mad at us for absolutely no reason. Also when my dad sees me playing with my phone. He would just make me do math works or essays.
reply

emotionally distant didnt care abt feelings ur a kid what u say doesnt matter, were the parents we kno better yet so physically involved micromanaging everything we kno whats good for u i dont give af if they care abt my feelings i would prefer it if they werent physically involved
reply

How my family treats me has gone to the point where I start forming severe acne and become easily frustrated, I cant do anything and I feel MUDA. I morn and try to sleep a lot to avoid it. Good news is scarce so I like playing, listening to music, and sleeping to escape.
reply

Well idk whats up with my parents but when i was small i was treated very kind and now im treated like trash, when my parents come home from work they get insanly mad if i dont do some chores, and when i say i did do it they dont believe me.
reply

Is it Neglect when you feel you were alone alot as child. Like my mom cared for me and work alot to support me. But she was always busy and wasn't completely there there. With my dad he just showed up to spend time with me every month or so.
reply

me: im tired
My parents: why you tired you dont do anything anyway
me in my heart: im tired of facing you guys
Dont reply and say that you guys sympathy or something like sympathy to me. It is annoying you know?

reply

Idk what type my parents have. But they let me buy 3-2 items as long it cheap but do all chores for me. But still tell me to not do dangerous things
Is it 3st type of parenting or it a different type

reply

I had mix of all authoritarian parents, permissive parents, neglectful parents, alcoholic parent, humiliating parent and abusive parents. It has been such a struggle to live with these ppl.
reply

Number 4 my parents don't rlly care what I do anyway coz I'm 16. even my school complaint about me my parents don't even care so I just do whatever I want. I love my freedom tbh
