LOGICALLY
Practically, the scenario will be based on input water pressure.
Case: 1 - Pressure is very high: The tank A will up first, because it-s outlet is narrow.
Case: 2 - Normal: From tank C, while the water enters tank J, due to surface tension, it starts entering into the inlet to tank L, and in parallel it starts filling J. Rest of the flow will be same as in theoretical approach. Here only the difference is that L started filling even before J overflown into L.
So, F will be filled a bit faster than in theoretical approach.

One previous comment states B filling first; impossible as B has an outlet at the bottom, so water flows out as fast as it flows in. Another comment involves surface tension! Surface tension is completely irrelevant. As long as the flow through the pipes is equal or greater than the flow out of the tap, F fills first. Pressure out of the tap has no effect whatever on the answer. Eventually an equilibrium state is reached where some tanks are partly full and F will be the only one over flowing.

People think about other variables when in fact that-s not what your suppose to do. You can-t just create factors when they aren-t given. The only thing you see is a faucet and a blue liquid which you can make an educated guess that it-s water. Assume everything is constant or consistent, water enters the same speed it leaves. Now, I just wanted to say I got it correct although I did guess k first, I then realized it-s entering l so it would never fill up enough to enter I. Thanks

F will fill up first, it has only input and no output, Bucket H, G D, E has zero input so they are out of the equation.
J has one input but two output, due to gravity J will fill L faster than I as the output is lower than I. This puts K out of the equation.
L has one input and one output, L will try to fill H but H has zero input so the water will redirect to F causing F to get filled up.

There is no way to fill up D E G H because they are not connected to warer supply. A will be filled up after B and B after C. C after J. J is connected to I and L but water reach I after J is filled up. So I and K get filled up after J. J gets filled up after L and L after F. So the first container to get filled up is F.

I've seen this particular puzzle many times and not once has the type of fluid been mentioned. Everyone seems to assume the fluid is water, but if the fluid is a very thick one the first tank to fill will probably be A.

Come on guys lets use basic English language. Its says which tank will fill up first, not full first. So therefore Tank A is being filled first.

Well if this really a test of physics, then in a 3 dimensional space they could not contain the water at all.
