I feel sorry for the ordinary people. One day, they may suffer great heartache when they find out how much they have been lied to. However, judging by videos that I've seen about those who've escaped, they will find it very difficult to adapt to a world where they have to make their own decisions and to make their own mistakes. In a society where you are raised to not think for yourself, that must be a terrifying thought. In some respects, I can understand why they find it comforting to be told what to do and when to do it.

DPRK is a socialist country where the people live a happy life under the Great Leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un. The Leader, The Party and The Masses are united single-heartedly in support of The Juche Idea as a unique way for Korea to achieve socialism and defend itself from imperialist enemies. In our socialist Korea the common people get free healthcare, housing, education free of charge. Can you say the same about your country

The funny thing is, the west look at them like theirs is the wrong way, but our way sucks too. We are not exactly a model society. there's no free press Neither is there here. Its all propaganda, just dressed differently. We are not free, just trapped in a different way. We still have powerful dictators (lol, lets not pretend true democracy exists) who are above the law and set the rules behind closed doors.

What's mostly kind of boring, but perpetually depressing is When you happen to notice anything new or recent about North Korea, there MIGHT be one or two points that the reporter finds out about. But 99. 9 % is sadly the same regurgitation of people that are brainwashed.

Only wealthy and elite North Koreans live in Pyongyang I hear that a lot. However, more than 10% of the population of North Korea lives in the capital. North Korea must have the highest percentage of wealthy elites of any society in the world.

At least in North Korea people have one dictator and they know who he is unlike the west that keep lecturing the world about democracy when their societies and lives are controlled by not one dictator but hundreds of dictators

I was intrigued by the minder at the soccer school. She spoke English as if she was American even had some colloquial expressions as only Americans have. She had to have learned English in the U. S. how did that happen

I was born in the Soviet Union, so I remember pretty well all these settings. There's huge gap between the well-off political elites and ordinary people.

These little people get all worked up about THE AMERICANS whereas >90% of muricans would be incapable of pointing at North Korea at a map.
