Clint Smith teaches you about the Black Lives Matter movement. We'll discuss some of the major events that contributed to the rise of BLM, including the deaths of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Eric Garner, and George Floyd, and the way that social media was utilized by Black organizers to gain support for the movement. Respect2theFallen: I'll be the first to ask. As a Black American who was skeptical of the movement from the start; are there any accurate sources that show where the funds donated to BLM have been distributed to? I believe recently like this year or last year recently a headquarters in AZ was bashed for not distributing back to the black community which doesn't help the cause of helping black lives matter. Overall informative video besides that aspect not being covered only that is rose awareness of the inequality still faced by Black Americans.

Clint Smith - your presentations are informative and highly relevant.
Crash Course has been appreciated.
For those of us who lived through some of these episodes in history, they offer conversation starters to the younger generations.
As the tragic and unjust deaths of Trayvon and Tamir demonstrate, these young people are also living through their own turning points in history.
May these courses give them background and information to lead us forward to a better future.
As the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr preached on April 3, 1968 -
I may not get there with you, but I have seen the Promised Land.

This was great! Thank you a lot for the great overview. It gave me a framework, in which to put all the things I've read, watched and listened too and will inform my lessons and my perspective on the subject in the future. I will definitely stay curious for this heart-wrenching, awe-inspiring and empowering history and present. All the best for your Mr. Smith, your presentation made this feel very personal and emotional for me.
Hope for additions to this series or as and addition to a African Diaspora/ Pan-African-Series. All the best from a geography teacher from Switzerland (who would have thought)

As a Dutch person I really had no idea how big this really was.
Yes I am not blind from thinks happening even here in the Netherlands.
Not so much the in your face racism but much more thinks you would not even notice unless pointed out.

Can you guys also do a crash course on native/aboriginal/indigenous history specific to North America. It s nice to see videos like this because unfortunately most of our schools only gloss over this subject. Also this video was great!

Can you talk about the allegations BLM faced, and if they ended up being real or not? As someone who is not american i thinnk it would be an important subject to talk about.
