Probabilities go up though givens, for instance the average American might not die of a bee sting, but what is the probability of an American who lives close to a beehive dying of a bee sting? That's definitely higher. The chance of dying of Corona is about 1%, but if I have severe asthma or I'm over 50 the chances are likewise much higher. Trying to say that the chances are all ridiculously low so I shouldn't worry within these contexts is like saying to a person rolling a die that the chance of someone in America getting a six right then less than 1 in a trillion. not everyone in America is rolling dies, and it has nothing to do with my chance of getting a six- which is just 1/6. Why would you even use all of America as a sample instead of people in a situation similar to the person who needs to know if it's safe or feasible?

I wish we would stop referring to American soldiers as heroes and romanticizing wars. Also saying American lives were saved while ignoring that improving the jets probably meant they were able to kill more people is very insensitive. The lives of your fellow nationals are not inherently more valuable that the lives of others around the world. This + the use of imperial system it is very clear who your target audience is. I wish you realized you are having an impact much larger than that, and these details are making foreign viewers feel alienated! Still, I love and recommend your work, Crash Course!

There are very few snakes in the world that are poisonous. Almost every snake that you need to be scared of uses venom to kill. Venoms can only kill you if it enters the blood. Poisons can kill through inhalation, ingestion, entering the blood, or sometimes passing through the skin. It applies to spiders and other creatures too. I don't mean to sound like a know-it-all but when people bring up this misconception, it infuriates me!

Everyone talking about the metric system (I agree though) and here I was thinking about how people in the US are obsessed with their military (the example was very helpful but seriously making army planes better doesn't -save- lives)

I dont why USA says 1 000 000 000 is 1 billion when the number really is 1 thousand million. How can they just ignore a complete set of unities? It really makes me go nuts.

I think the Bulgarian lottery system used pseudorandom number, i. e. without seeding the random number generator. You will know it if you've programmed in C/C++.
