-Maybe the best way to survive the destruction of humanity is to listen to God-. .. yet not only do we still NOT do that, we now also sit around and try to claim He doesn't even exist.
At least we're consistent in NOT learning lessons, just as we will be consistent in bringing about our destruction by His hand.
So much for evolving intellectually and all that.
Many cultures have a consistent flood legend because there was a flood. This is evidenced by all the fossils encased in stratified layers of sediment and igneous rock. Go figure.
It DOES answer the ongoing question, though. .. How can a good God let evil continue?
The answer: He won't.
Maybe it's time we wise up while His patience still exists. It's pretty easy to see how denial worked out for all the flood victims.
It almost seems like common sense.
I wonder if we'll grab ahold of that before it's too late?
Yeah, right

so noah is aware of localized flooding so he spent fifty years building a ark for a local flood. then he decided to get into the ark 7 days with animals and food for a year before it flooded. and when it finally rains and floods he is sitting in this ark. why not just move away from the flood if he knew when it would happen, and the animals are quite capable of moving away form water including birds. the idea of this ark and animals is wide spread because all humans come from noah and his three sons. so if there are local floods why would they even come up with the idea of a ark with animals to escape it would be silly. they would just move away. silly humans always trying to get around the biblical history. always trying to to remove accountablity for their actions.

In 1853, archaeologists found a series of 12 tablets dated to around 650 BC-the story of the hero Gilgamesh.
The Gilgamesh Epic has close parallels to the account of Noah's Flood and has led some skeptics to imply that the biblical account is a retelling of the Babylonian legend. However, there are major differences which give clues as to which account is more accurate.
In the Gilgamesh epic, the ark is a cube, a terrible design for rough waters. Noah's Ark was built to be tremendously stable.
The Genesis account came first, the Gilgamesh Epic is a distortion.

This is just my interpretation but for the Utanupishtim flood when they use the human's making too much noise as justification I kinda saw it as the Humans asking too much from the gods. Like they are constantly badgering them with their requests instead of just doing things themselves hence why it fits that a man and the people in his village who work hard enough to create the boat and are quiet enough to avoid Enlil's gave long enough are allowed to survive.

Ya-ll believe that two penguins from antarctica trekked all the way to the middle east and got on boat of a 600 y-o man? Also two kangaroos from Australia swam across the indian ocean tor reach that boat? Also if a flood happened then how come do we have freshwater on the planet? If u believe in that fairy tale u scare me

I thought that it was when the people were marrying like crazy, and that's what all the noise was about. Was it because the women were howling, or because they were being raped often and crying out to be saved? That would kind of coincide with other stuff apparently going on, Gilgamesh included.

Is there some academy that teaches these millennials this obnoxious body language or something?
I know you're trying to be engaging but if a person was moving their hands at me in person like that I would be very inclined to punch them.

My understanding is that if all the ice in Antarctica and the Arctic melted at the same time it would only raise the coastline about 70 meters. A global submersion of all land within the last 10, 000 years isn't even a possibility.

area, not circumference. And we have the detailed instructions, and it's a circular ship about 40m across. Which is, you must admit, huge for the tech at the time.
