We don't live in a perfect world, and neither do gases - it would be great if their particles always fulfilled the assumptions of the ideal gas law, and we could use PV=nRT to get the right answer every time. Unfortunately, the ideal gas law (like our culture) has unrealistic expectations when it comes to size and attraction: it assumes that particles do not have size at all and that they never attract each other. So the ideal gas law often becomes little more than the ideal gas estimate when it comes to what gases do naturally. But it's a close enough estimate in enough situations that it's very valuable to know. In this episode, Hank goes through a bunch of calculations according to the ideal gas law so you can get familiar with it. Pssst. we made flashcards to help you review the content in this episode! I'm rereading my notes I took in class here and I'm seeing two Ideal gas constants. it depends on which units are being used in the question.
8. 3145 Joules/moles = K
and
0. 08206 L atm/mole = K
For my class 0. 08206 L atm/mole is used most often in a majority of equations
using the 0. 08206 l atm/mole as the constant for the first equation I'm getting 0. 22414689 L or 2. 24 x 10-7 L of an unknown gas
Did Hank use the correct constant? Or am I off?

I am roughly 6 years late however I'm glad that as of now I see no one commenting about the animation of the Hidenburg being -Nazi Propoganda- for having a prototype correct swastika on the tail fins

Just curious whether you were put in low density furniture when posted this video when mentioned that you didn't find your wife attractive until her density of presence took over you.

question at 2: 34 Dimitri basically switched the volume and the temperature in the second equation and then put together all of the equations right?

Figure out that equation. XD

As a New Jersian, I never knew the Hindenburg crashed here! As someone in finance, I can't ever see PV as anything other than Present Value.

This guy reminds me of the Doctor. I want a Doctor Who episode where Hank and the Doctor team up! David Tennant HAS to know he exists!

Sir, I have a question: does o2 gas obey ideal gas law at low temperature before its liquification point? If yes then how and why?

Where is Gay Lussac Law(the pressure exerted on the sides of its container is directly proportional to its absolute temperature?

hi. is it possible if students behaviour compare as gas and -this un-ideal- student behaviour push to be -ideal- behaviour?
