Have a very good time enjoying your salads, fruit, and other planted food. I know you are motivated to plant more vegetables and fruits. Will there be any native trees there in 20 years time? It would be more interesting to try and live with nature, investigate and forage in the forest and fish in the streams and sea, and research how others survived on this land both before and after European colonization. Currently it sort of looks like you're creating a suburban block in the wilderness with everything imported from the nearest hardware store.

Haven-t seen you guys going on slug patrol at night? You have them to contend with also? They love all those leafy greens! The banana slugs like to hide under rocks and and under our irrigation lids - the baby-s are literally 1/2 inch and tiny. We have one that likes to slime back and forth over our entry gravel walkway. Slimy is become part of the family -

I think its great you guys are doing this but don't you worry about medical help in case of an emergency being so secluded? If someone had need of emergent medical attention you would be too far away to get help quickly?

If you had quart jars to can your tomatoes, you would use a level teaspoon of salt. You would put the salt in the bottom of the jar and add your tomatoes. Leave a half inch of space on top before you seal the jar.

You two are a fantastic couple and your dogs are amazing, I have had several Queensland Blue Heeler which I think your dogs are and they have been very smart but I don't think mine can compare with yours two.

How did you find the right off-grid on Coastal BC? I drove for days trying to find something along the sunshine coast and had to watch Naruto to persevere in my belief.
