Never buy a renault. We got it for a song because Electroinc E brake last year. Remade 40 joints under the seat. Last week weird cutting out issue, more bad electrics. Somebody been at the fuel pump and I got me a new fuel pump pliers tool they left behind. Just sitting there. they done the old rip tie hold her in job. I cut the fecker socket open and off and soldered that fecker. Golden now. I was amazed how long it would run with just fuel residue pressure with the pump off. almost a minute, and no codes whatsoever.

I did one of these on my 2001 S10 back in the day. I was fighting that light for a good five years and come to find out now I just took my ABS module off and sent it to a repair service off of eBay and I got it back four days later. Just bolted it back on and no more ABS light. If I would’ve known it, been that easy back then I would have sent it off earlier. It’s just some cracked solders that need a quick touch up where the power comes in the box.

Yeah haven't yet seen unit(in EU) that you cant buy controller wo hydraulig part, but maybe Toyota has one.
But yes bleeders are great and what is even greater is that its getting more common for ABS module to leave break fluid pressure on some second longer on some lines then other.
Witch makes leaving the lights fun! Example if front left and right rear are on and you accelerate q what happends; )

Had problems with these back in the 90s on wrecked cars. Toyota tried to blow it off. But there was no exterior damage to them. Ins Co told them they were going to request a ruling from NHTSA for a recall. Suddenly Toyota started warranting them. lol Had the same problem with Hyundai on their mufflers and cat converters. Hyundai started paying for them too. It's always something.

I always enjoy the trip to Wilbert's Pick and Pull. I look forward to your videos, assume Wilbert's didn't have the ABS for the Toyota. Eric, I think you should branch out to MotorTrend like Derek from Vice Grip Garage did, I'm sure the MotorTrend audience would enjoy periodic drop in from Mrs O, and the Garage Kitty.

would have been nice to see if you could have opened the electronic side of the module to see if the surface mount parts had been soldered properly it has been mentioned that is usually the reason for the abs failing and yes i have seen that a lot of surface mount parts not being soldered due to unknown reasons

Retired now but, thanks to Eric I find myself saying, that's interesting and the all time favorite, that's your problem lady! mostly to my wife while working on her car from time to time. Not to mention Eric's torch skills and a well placed hammer brings me back to the days working in the shop.

How do you do it; how, do, you, do, it, do you have a magic wand
How is it when you make your videos and you need a part from the junkyard It’s always there. I know, it’s a magic junkyard, Right Or do you just pray to the parts Heaven before you go I wish I had a junkyard like that.

Dont feel like it is a boring vid as you said in numero uno 'crazy cluster'. You wouldn't have known to at least go to the ABS without the scanner. but yes, do a visual inspection first. After watching a hundred or more of your vids I know it's sage advice. due to wisdom.

Random question. I took the rotor off my Tundra to do a wheel bearing when I put it back on it feels like its warped now when stopping. You had a tip to clean them to stop that from happening. Where are you supposed to clean the rust off the back of the rotor

That has got to be the shortest sma video ever. Roomies G Caravan had no heat. No parts required repair unless you count topping up the fluid and cycling the control panel hot to cold and back again. In some cases I really can do it too!

Bet you were happy not to have to change out the entire unit! It's weird that this issue did not affect starting the car. Another great video! I hope you and the family have a Happy Thanksgiving, don't get too full lol.

Eric they're a very common failure over here in Australia, especially in the 50 Series Camrys! I can usually buy a Whole damaged Camry from the Raffles over here for what the Wreckers want just for a second hand ABS unit!

Did some learning about can- bus crap, don't know about the year or make, but found out that the last resistor in the can-bus wires is in the ABS module. Learn something every day and I don't even work on cars much

What happened to the bolt you made the pen out of I made some arrow pens. They disappeared. I've been thinking about making a couple more. Brings back memories of Archery Clubs and Tournament Shooting. Cool Vid.

I got my start in automotive by watching SMA several years ago. Just the other week I diagnosed and repaired one of these with this exact same issue - really cool to see this repair come full circle!

On a lot of Ford F series (early 2000s, I have just gone through the PC board and touched up the solder joints. Most of the time it is where the coil connects to the PC board.
