New Mercedes A-Class driven: verdict on stylish hatchback

We are due to replace it soon and eagerly awaited the new A class but what a disapointment. There is more useable space in the small hatchbacks from VW etc. -
The tester likes the look of the new car. We need to own a car to use not stand and look at.

Golfs resale are as high as merc. I looked at the CC VW but also poked around the Golf (then, not the new one) its carpet cutouts were reminiscent of a Peugeot, not high quality. Not sure what the very new Golf is like, but the models I looked at weren't a patch on a BMW or Merc. The CC wasn't too bad, but due to resale values not being as high as Merc, it was actually cheaper on PCP to run a higher quality higher price Merc than PCP the CC.

There are also options on this car that are hundreds of euro's of you buy them at the stealer, you can activate them cheap with a obd2 kit. the car is expensive cause most of the things which are on the option list are already built in the standard version of the car. A180 and A200 are exactly the same engine, only the chip is different and in some country the a180 is much cheaper because of the CO2 emission

I have one, the turbocharged engine can be chipped very easily to 152 bhp. Approx for 300-500 euro for a replacement chip or much less if you buy a obd2 kit and flash it yourself. Stunning car

As an ex-A-class (first-gen) owner I take issue with -dumpy-. It was a brilliant car, a packaging masterpiece, unique. This is just a hideously overstyled mainstream hatchback.

In Saudi A250 costs 140k which I can buy the new Impala LTZ 2014 3. 5 liter, Ford Edge or Explorer. beside the rear side doesn't look pretty as the front one! : /

I'd take a 1-Series over this. I like the simpler look of it. I love hatchbacks but just not a fan of this one's rear end. Shoulda went with a wider taillight imo.

Hyundai looking with a Merc front end. very expensive too! The Audi and BMW the better option, unless you really want the Merc badge on your driveway.
